March Madness Confidential to Include Michigan

March Madness Confidential, where a camera crew shadows a few teams during the tourney, will include Michigan this year. Not sure I love having this sort of distraction but should be interesting to watch.

Our team is very accustomed to this type of media exposure with B1G network Journey, Jude stamper, BQ beat-writing, etc.  I am all for more exposure for our program, and I am looking forward to the extra access as a fan.

Off topic, but I hope Livers starts instead of Poole. Jordan is a good shooter, but damn he is inconsistent.

He is caught in this place where he does not know if he should be a go-to scorer or a complimentary piece.  Beilein gives him a ton of shit for bad shots, but when it comes down to it, when we need points the other players on our team starting looking for him to do something.

But then he does what he does and he gets yanked.  I think he is a volume shooter/scorer who gets "in trouble" all the time when he tries to score the way he knows how to do it.  I think Poole is kind of thinking "what do you want me to do?"

I do agree that Livers should be playing starters minutes right now.  An argument can be made right now that Livers is the best player on our team.

He's not getting open looks like he did last year as the defense doesn't have to worry about X and Teske from the outside and they can key on him.

I love X but the fact he can't rise and shoot out of the pick and roll is a major reason why the offense can be very ineffective. Teske is a bit of a one trick pony out of it, too, as there is almost no threat he will put the ball on the floor which would open up good looks for JP.

We don't have the right offensive personnel at key spots for Coach B's offense this year.

Agreed. Beilein can keep enlarging that rug to sweep the real problem under...but it remains. Teske and Simpson are not dynamic enough to routinely beat the better teams-or even some dreadful ones. The partisans keep slathering the lipstick on this pig...doesn't change the pig. And after those two run the clock down they pass it to Poole and demand that he rescue them. Why should he not take the shot earlier-when they end up forcing him to take it later anyway??? And this is why I believe he will go pro-to escape this ridiculous scenario. Put the kid in a position to succeed!!!

It really all comes down to Simpson and Teske. If either of them was a consistent 3 point threat off the pick and roll, it opens everything else up. It creates more space on the wings for Matthews and Poole to shoot in rythm or get to the basket off the dribble.

Once a defense is able to clog up the lane off the Teske screen, the offensive possession stalls out and somebody has to hurry up and get a shot off. Because everyone is stagnant when this happens, there is also no chance at an offensive rebound.

When you have the national recognition, history, and excellence as a program that only UM brings to the table, this shouldn't be surprising.  The athletes are accustomed to the fame and recognition this attention brings, so shouldn't be anything they cant handle in the tournament. Good attention for our program.  The only thing stopping us from another shot at the championship is the referees, who already stole an undefeated season, B10 championship, and BTT championship from us. Enough is enough.
