Livers Has Himself A Game For The Pistons

No Cade tonight, but Livers scored 16 points going 4/5 from deep.  Added 6 rebounds and was a +16 on the night.

I was hoping the Pistons would be able to get Livers before the draft and it worked out.  Not bad seeing he missed most of the season with the foot injury suffered last season.  Had the opportunity to meet him at a fan thing the Pistons put on last weekend.  Super nice kid.  Wish him the best and hoping that this is only the beginning for him.

I am super bullish on the Pistons.  Cade and Bey are a potential all-star duo in the next season or two.  Grant is a great piece and could be a great veteran to keep around or to get good assets in exchange for.  Bagley is very intriguing and could develop into a high quality sixth man.  Ditto for Livers.  I was hoping the Pistons would be able to draft him last season, and was thrilled when they didn't fuck that one up (thank you Coach Beilein!).    At the center position, they have a lot of versatility when you look at the combination of Beef Stew, Kelly Olynyk, and Garza.  All are solid pieces with their own limitations, but can be used to optimize for different matchups and situations.  Lastly, Killian Hayes looks much better now as a bench piece and is a great option to give Cade a rest.

The only question mark on this team is at shooting guard (or "wing" I guess is the preferred nomenclature nowadays).  I really like Diallo, but I think if the Pistons could get a high impact shooting guard and have Diallo as the backup, the 'Stones all of a sudden are a good Eastern Conference team right and a championship contender in a few years.

Michigan's next coach. Plays for the Pistons for 5 years. Is an assistant to Jay Wright for 5 years. Is an assistant to Juwan for 5 years...takes over the reins.

He's looking good.  So much opportunity on this team for him.  A couple nights ago Bey wasn't playing well and Livers closed out the game with the starters.

I'm stubborn that he can carve out a role doing just this on a regular basis.

10-12 points per game, 40+% from 3, boards, solid D. Robert Covington.

I  watched last week when they beat Atlanta in OT and he played well then also. Noticed some chemistry forming with him and Cade. I actually think the Pistons have a bright future, lots of good young talent.

Hopefully Livers can stay injury free. Most Beilein wing players have nice NBA careers , just fundamentally so sound.

Seeing the ups and downs of the Michigan team this year, I appreciate players like Livers and the Michigan teams he played on even more.  Hope he can really make a go of it.

If Livers can shoot 3's like this he will absolutely stick, and maybe even end up with a starting role in the NBA.

He obviously doesn't have nearly enough shots to qualify, but right now his 3-point % would put him right at the top of the league.  He's shot 48% since he started getting minutes in late February.  What a great start for his career.
