Jeremy Clark to CB?
One of @Marcus_Ray29's suggestions for boosting CB competition in Peppers' absence is Jeremy Clark to CB. Was discussed internally last year

I thought CB was code for Oakland

He's got some decent speed, but he'd be a severe body-type outlier.

But I think this is the direction Michigan is going
My guess, based on the guys Michigan is recruiting at CB, is that Michigan wants to play more zone (and eventually be more multiple) and utilize length on the outside to press and then make up ground and move the quickness to the safety position. The slide approach to CB play will help in this regard, and you'll see less straight Cover 1. This seems substantiated by potentially moving Clark to CB. He had the best man skills of the group (but struggled in run/pass conflict situations, probably an eye discipline issue) and would fit from a length standpoint, while not necessarily being a great pure man cover guy.

So less pure "stickiness" and more size and straight-line speed on the outside. Brandon Watson was pegged for a safety later on, but now he might be a corner as well.

Perhaps move Ross Douglas back to corner as well.

I don't really think Ross Douglas is going to be a major factor anywhere. And if we're looking at big, physical corners, Douglas doesn't fit the mold at all. I guess he could help fill out the depth chart, but that might be about it except maybe some special teams work.

I agree. Just seems like they have less depth at CB than they do at RB right now.

Yikes. Still, the depth at WR is still seemingly better than CB right now, a warm body could be helpful at this point.

But what about Stribling? I liked his flashes his freshman year. With Peppers at safety, Stribling would have a major role behind Countess and Lewis.
Hell, he could give replace Countess on the boundary, Lewis on the field side and Countess in the nickel spot.

Stribling looked lost most of the time out there, but I've got to believe that having a linebacker coach working with cornerbacks was a big part of that. We does seem to have the physical talent and size that Durkin and co. are looking for--too bad he didn't redshirt for that extra year of eligibility under better coaching and conditioning.

He looked lost in 2013 when he had a defensive backs coach coaching him, too. Maybe he's just lost.

Could be.

He's 6'2' and 178lbs -- another lanky corner who just needs to fill out a little bit. And yes, he did show a few things his first year.

Cod not quite figure out if Hoke and crew had actually switched Magnuson to TE or just threw a diff number on him to be cute when they ran heavy packages.

This was just Marcus Ray's suggestion. I expect we will see some more moves on defense during the spring.

I want to believe that this is a reaction to word from our coaches that they feel better about a higher ranked prospect whose intials are Iman and Marshall. I want to baugh-lieve!
