How Soon We Forget....
Reading some of these posters on here...I don't think you have any concept of the speed that has come to Michigan nor do I think you understand the strength and conditioning of Barwis at all.
I would guarantee my "fanship" of Michigan that there has never been a faster/quicker team in the history of Michigan football then there is today.
And questioning Barwis? I mean, slap yourself. Seriously. Just do it. Save your breath and your typing little fingers....look in a mirror...and just slap yourself.
Here is the thing about football that people don't understand. This is when I can tell someone has played football or they have just watched it all their life:
The game of football changes for the athlete. The athlete doesn't change for football. Teams that are successful have the ability to see what kind of athlete exists and then create a system to allow that athlete to flourish. Examples off the top of my head being the 49ers West Coast in the 80's....the Spread....the Buddy Ryan defense...the Wildcat.
Speed and quickness are here for good people. We had to get on board.

Right, cuz you know everything and we don't know shit. Okay please continue to enlighten us then....

did we forget this? Isn't this what everyone has been saying since RR got hired?

One dumbass said Barwis hasn't improved anything, and to imply otherwise would be an insult to Mike Gittleson.

Hmm, I must have missed that one... I'm glad this guy straightened us out though.

i'll get 100% on the barwis bandwagon when we start dominating late in the game

Great. Your bandwagon reservation for the fourth quarter against WMU will be at the will call window.

It's nice that they are quicker and faster, but all that allowed them to do last year was fumble or punt the ball faster on offense and miss tackles quicker on defense. So we'll be on the bandwagon the second they show the ability to execute well enough to take advantage of the speed and quickness.

But holy shit did they fumble fast so that the defense could get back on the field.

I want this team to score 21 in the 4th quarter, while the other team is gasping for air.
August 15th, 2009 at 11:48 AM ^
I want this team to ride rainbow pooping unicorns.
August 15th, 2009 at 11:18 AM ^
Agreed, this team looks like one of the fastest teams we have had maybe ever. The thing is though is that they need to execute and make the speed look good instead of fumbling all the time and not being able to dominate in the fourth quarter.

And exactly how was UM going to dominate anything last year with Threet and Sheridan sharing the most important position on the field? They could have had the Justice League of America and the Fantastic Four on defense last year and they still would have been gassed in the fourth quarter.
This year, the offense will allow the defense time to breathe, and we will all see what we were hoping for last year.

assuming i was going to slap myself, why would I have to look in a mirror to do so?

Because the OP knew John L. Smith. And you, sir, are no John L. Smith!

I don't think you can question that they'll be faster than Atom Ant or Mighty Mouse--but what I want to see is all these lighter, smallish guys not become skidmarks on the football field against what will undoubtedly be bigger opponents.
I know the old axiom: "You can't turn them into skidmarks if you can't catch 'em"--but let me just see this happen before I put my KOB Personal Stamp of Approval on the whole deal.

Title your post "how soon we forget" and then talk down to readers with a bunch of "new" concepts for our feeble, uninformed minds. When does forgetting something enter the equation?

You should be the coach at Notre Dame. I mean, Charlies Weis has never played a down of football, so you obviously must know more than he does.

Thanks for reminding me.

In football Fast = Good
Forgot that so soon.
