Herbie's fed up with the Bucknuts
Where some national fans see a Buckeye homer trying to cover his tracks on the air, some fraction of Ohio State fans see Herbstreit's efforts at objectivity toward OSU as a betrayal. After 15 years of being pulled in both directions, the disconnect between his national job and his local persona has finally forced Herbstreit to move his family from Columbus to Nashville.
OSU fans are so crazy that one of their most ardent supporters and a former player has chosen to move his family away from Columbus.
You don't say!
You really think an article like that from yesterday morning hasn't been posted yet?
Used the search feature and the latest thing i saw posted was from July. Sorry, I guess I didn't look hard enough.
I also looked 6 pages back on the board and could not find this posted.....
maybe it took this long for him to realize that columbus is a terrible place to raise a family. the quality of the people and the quality of the schools should be enough to prompt the move.

Herbstreit and I both live in Upper Arlington, an affluent suburb of Columbus which borders the OSU campus. The public schools, private schools and the life style matches or exceeds anything offered in MIchigan. There is no University of Michigan and there are no Great Lakes close by. I was raised in MI and have 2 degrees from UM- Columbus is great but I too hate the obnoxious, derranged buckeye fans here!
Old news, but still pretty damning. As soon as the "education" phase of my life is squared away, I intend to move far, far away from CBus.
If you're going to school at OSU, you might consider quitting now. Some would say this would put you farther along than if you actually graduated. : )
I got my Michigan degree already, but unfortunately med school admission committees want more than a diploma from the best school in the B1G. So, it's back to school for me :-) Just three more quarters to go!
that my ex-girlfriend goes to school with you. She graduated from Michigan in '07 (as did I) and will be graduating from OSU med this Spring.
Animals... thats all they are in C-bus
just like all the OSU people.
80 to 90% of America's worst fan base is really great? I beg to differ, Herbie.
80 to 90 percent are good but 10 to 5 percent make it tough.. So how many people are classified otherwise?

The other 5-10 percent only show up to see the marching band.
I know a Buckeye who is a really good guy. I'll emphasize the fact that this phrase is singular.
I know a guy who's a buckeye fan and he's a really good guy, but not when it comes to anything buckeye-related. It's possible that being a good guy and being a good guy while you're being a buckeye fan are mutually exclusive.
Anybody with 1/2 a brain (which excludes) 90% of OSU grads and fans, would understand that any journalist (or someone who calls himself/herself one) MUST be objective on the air or in writing. That's part of their job description. I guess that's beyond most Suckeye Fans. They should appreciate what he does for his school and keep their mouths shut if he says something that's correct. But, look at who we're talking about. The WORST fan base in America.
I don't like the word Suckeye, I'm just putting it out there. It makes our fan-base sound like the scUM spouting trolls out in the other regions of the blogosphere.
Right on... plus, with all the ammo Pryor gives us whenever he opens his mouth, do we really have to resort to derivations of "suck"? Cannot the Leaders and Best insult better than that?
But then again, I giggle like a schoolgirl whenever someone says you cannot spell "cocksucker" without O-S-U.

I'm also a fan of Cckcker. It makes 'em think.
Not MLive.
Could you imagine Michigan fans giving Desmond Howard such a hard time about being objective on the air that he would want to move?
That's not even a fair comparison... comparing A2 to that steaming pile of shit down south that is...
Harbaugh WAS critical of the program and it caused a lot in the fanbase to pause for a moment. If Harbaugh was in the worst state ever (or West Virginia), he'd be fearing for his safety... instead, he got offered the head coaching gig.
Hell, the lawyer who advised Tressell is even getting death threats now. When was the last time someone at Michigan got death threats from the fan base? Not even Carr did for losing all those games in the end.
tUoOS may as well be in the SEC.
That kind of behavior is de rigueur in CBus.
Surprise Surprise. Fuck Ohio State.
he's just getting out of dodge now because he knows some very, very hard questions about OSU's penalties are going to be coming his way?
Columbus is going to be a sad place to live for awhile.
I have a friend who lives in Dublin which is just outside Columbus. If OSU goes up in flames, it's just more reason for me to go down there for visits.
I went there last Fall on the day we beat Bowling Green. Later that night, we went to dinner at Applebee's in town and they were showing ESPN college football highlights on the TV. When it got to our game highlights, I happened to glance over at a family sitting at the next table. The young boy, he couldn't have been more than 9 years old, flipped the bird at the TV screen when it showed Denard on the ground in pain after injuring his knee.
Those are a classy bunch of fans no matter what age.
Does anyone else think it's weird that Herbie is moving between the states that host the only two still-employed men ever to lie to the NCAA and get caught?
Not sayin' just sayin'...
