Dior Mathis listing, in ranked order, (1) Oregon, (2) MSU, (3) Michigan, (4) Miami.
Hopefully we get him, but if we don't I hope he goes to Oregon or Miami. I would hate to see another good player go to State over us and have to hear the whole "MSU is better at recruiting in-state."
...have Courtney Avery give Mr. Anderson a call?
I wouldn't mind if UM or UVA stole him from Stanford personally.
I think I may have personally underestimated Harbaugh and his recruiting pitch. I'm very impressed with the talent he has been able to pull in starting from last year's class and now this one.
It's weird - a part of me will always respect him for playing at Michigan but a part of me hates him for throwing Michigan under the bus with that whole academic episode. Disregarding that point, he seems to be a good recruiter and potentially a good coach - we'll have to see how Stanford improves this year.
..no matter what he said about Michigan in 2007, if Rich Rod doesn't succeed here, he will be on the shortlist of people to consider as RR's replacement in 3 or 4 years.
I do like Harbaugh, despite his comments, and am happy to see him recruiting well, but why does Stanford seem to be on the shortlist of every guy we recruit? Are there guys out there actually taking education as a factor in their decision?
ever been to Palo Alto? It's a beautiful place with great weather.
True, but I actually agree: Stanford has popped up quite a bit with a lot of Michigan recruits this year. Definitely more often than I remember in the past. Unfortunately, I am too lazy to actually research it, but I think it does reflect well on Harbaugh and his recruiting/coaching. Not something we should worry about, obviously, just an observation.
Harbaugh seems to be looking to go elsewhere to coach (NFL). I don't suspect he will be there to see this current crop of kids he's recruiting graduate.
Stanford has the most beautiful campus I've ever seen and opens doors to any and every job on the West Coast. If playing for an MNC isn't your top priority, there are few better places to go than Stanford.
You mean living in beautiful Denton, TX while playing for the North Texas Mean Green wouldn't be your first choice for a college education? Shame on you...they have one mean school of home furnishings!
Though I'd always like to see top athletes in Ann Arbor, no one can objectively knock Anderson for choosing Stanford. It's a great school. Good luck to him.
regardless of what happens to RR. Once he implicitly threw Bo under the bus, his Michigan ties were effectively severed. Not only that, he's also loudly proclaimed on numerous occasions that Stanford was always his dream job from the time he was a kid. He might be a good coach, but he's a self-serving hypocrite.
I disagree completely with your take on Harbaugh, but, I have no desire to argue about this for the billionth time. Some people will be bitter about Harbaugh no matter what and nothing will change their minds. Have at it.
I think RR has us in a good spot and we can only go up from here. But, if he doesn't pan out, we certainly don't need some boner insider to be the next coach or the next high profile failure - aka Lane Kiffin.
At first I thought the judge from Night Court had some eligability left. Dude was hilarious when he played the hustler on Cheers.
