Henry Anderson to Stanford per ESPN

Damn it. Had both M and UVA in top 8. That's still longish odds (doubles my chances of being happy though) but I was hoping anyway - I thought he was underrated by the services given his offers.

Hopefully we get him, but if we don't I hope he goes to Oregon or Miami. I would hate to see another good player go to State over us and have to hear the whole "MSU is better at recruiting in-state."

I think I may have personally underestimated Harbaugh and his recruiting pitch. I'm very impressed with the talent he has been able to pull in starting from last year's class and now this one. It's weird - a part of me will always respect him for playing at Michigan but a part of me hates him for throwing Michigan under the bus with that whole academic episode. Disregarding that point, he seems to be a good recruiter and potentially a good coach - we'll have to see how Stanford improves this year.

I do like Harbaugh, despite his comments, and am happy to see him recruiting well, but why does Stanford seem to be on the shortlist of every guy we recruit? Are there guys out there actually taking education as a factor in their decision?

True, but I actually agree: Stanford has popped up quite a bit with a lot of Michigan recruits this year. Definitely more often than I remember in the past. Unfortunately, I am too lazy to actually research it, but I think it does reflect well on Harbaugh and his recruiting/coaching. Not something we should worry about, obviously, just an observation.

Stanford has the most beautiful campus I've ever seen and opens doors to any and every job on the West Coast. If playing for an MNC isn't your top priority, there are few better places to go than Stanford.

Though I'd always like to see top athletes in Ann Arbor, no one can objectively knock Anderson for choosing Stanford. It's a great school. Good luck to him.

regardless of what happens to RR. Once he implicitly threw Bo under the bus, his Michigan ties were effectively severed. Not only that, he's also loudly proclaimed on numerous occasions that Stanford was always his dream job from the time he was a kid. He might be a good coach, but he's a self-serving hypocrite.

I think RR has us in a good spot and we can only go up from here. But, if he doesn't pan out, we certainly don't need some boner insider to be the next coach or the next high profile failure - aka Lane Kiffin.
