Not gonna lie, my hatred for ND is far lower than my hatred for OSU and MSU. They remind me a lot of us in many ways, they're a respectable institution, their fans seem like decent people in my experience. I just don't see a ton of reasons to hate them.

OK I'll bite.
ND is easily my least favorite college football team. I will root for any team over them.
For starters they are pretentious and self-important--thinking they are too special to join a conference like just about everyone else. Then there are the scheduling shenanigans they have been pulling forever. Then there is the string of insufferable coaches. Not to mention the sheer ridiculousness of an Irish Catholic school with a mispronounced French name being located in Bumfuck Indiana.
I can respect differences of opinion on this matter, but those are some of my reasons. I'm sure I'll think of more during the game.
I am glad we play them. I loathe them and hope they lose.

One of my favorite grandpa stories. When I was a wee lad of 19 years and it was football season, I asked my grandpa (who lived in Terre Haute, Indiana) who his favorite football team was (I was going to Michigan and playing in the marching band at the time).
He paused, thought about it for a moment and then said... "whoever's playing Notre Dame". I have no idea why he said that but it was good for a laugh and I chalked it up to his years of experience watching football in Indiana.
Has no bearing on anyone's thoughts towards Notre Dame, but this thread definitely brought back a fond memory from almost 40 years ago.

I don't like Notre Dame. But I don't like them the way I don't like tweaker hobos lurking around the Greyhound terminal. As in I'd rather just not have anything to do with them at all than fight them.

I thought this would be a “why I hate ND” thread. I used to hate them, when Lou Holts was their coach, because outside of Michigan, ND gets all the attention for having a great tradition. They are the only school with a fight song as recognizable as our own. They were basically a more successful version of us. Then Holtz left, they started sucking and now it’s just a tradition to hate them. I would also say they start each year being overrated, but that’s been Michigan lately as well.
