Quick shout out to Denard in the Onion.
To me, this is the first sure sign that he has arrived.

I hate the onion, but that Stoked video is pretty fucking funny. One point to you, my good man.

Posting this same thing twice in one day is lame. Go for three and it will be rad!

I don't think that this is the right instance for the cool story, brah card. This is actually a cool story, BRAH. Keep your tricks in the bag until the time is right

Is The Event really that good? Is it the somewhat worthwhile successor to Lost I've been waiting for?

I'd say it's 2 parts 24 and 1 part Lost. Definitely more of a thriller than an esoteric mythological mystery. But they do time travel.
I like this more than I ever liked 24 and less than Lost. So take that FWIW.

but it linked to this article, which, is both horrifyingly macabre and totally perfect. I'm kind of surprised someone had the balls to write it.

I watched the Denard/The Event preview. I kind of want to start calling him "The Event" in addition to "Shoelace."
It's a little more epic...like Adrian "All Day" Peterson. or Craig "Ironhead" Heyward.

"The Event" sounds contrived to me. It sounds like something a market research committee would have come up with. "Shoelace" has that old-school feel to it, like something from the early 1900's. I like it.

I'm confused. Can Denard be both The Event and The Happening?
October 6th, 2010 at 3:24 PM ^
I definitely prefer "The Event." The happening sounds a little too performance art to me.

This kind of reminds me of how Kornheiser never stops plugging "The Event."
