brandon minor

Excuse me if this has been mentioned in the recent past but I was wondering what kind of chance Minor might have making a living in the NFL (considering he is healthy). Has there been any news lately??

Personal guess is that if he has a decent combine he could possibly get drafted in the 4-6th rounds. I think his measurables are good enough that someone might take a shot on him on the second day of the draft. Getting before the 5th round round would probably take some pretty dirty combine results, durability is huge with running backs with the punishment they take.

Peterson was injured most of his college career, and suddenly became a fairly durable back in the NFL. "Fragile" Fred Taylor has been in the league quite awhile, too. The odds are against Minor, but you never know.

I'm fairly certain Adrian Peterson only had two injuries in college that caused him to miss games. One was an ankle sprain and the other was that freak collarbone injury. It seems like Minor's injury problems have been chronic, even if they were not on the same level as Carlos Brown.

Minor is a productive back and scouts can see this (when healthy). The durability will be a question at the next level and will likely impact his draft stock. He'd be a good pickup for a playoff team like New England or the Colts to take a bit of a flier.

It's not really news. It's more of a hunch really, but I don't see a great future for Minor in the NFL. He is certainly tough and skilled, but I don't see him getting tons of work in the NFL. Maybe as the slower and stronger part of a timeshare, but I think that is a stretch. Instead, he's probably a 3rd string back waiting to happen. The other side of this is evidenced by guys like Grant, whose measurables are no better than Minor's. So, maybe in the right situation he can be a solid NFL back, but the odds are certainly against him.

he is hard to judge. RBs seem like they come out of the lower rounds all of the time. He has the physical tools, I think its a matter of him staying healthy. We are seeing more and more two featured back sets in the NFL in todays game. He is going to be a good pick for whoever gets him late. There is a lot of potential there.

drafted with that history of injuries. Probably will get a shot as an undrafted free agent, but will have to impress in camp or in the preseason to make the cut. I think he could be a successful power back getting maybe 5 carries a game in the right situation, but I don't think he will ever be a feature back.

His college productivity was so limited that scouts and GMs will have a tough time justifying anything higher than a 5-6th round pick, if even that. Moreover, whether it's fair or not, fact of the matter is that the NFL is incredibly prejudiced against injury-prone RBs. Combine the limited college productivity with durability issues, and I don't think GMs are going to bite. It's true that he has some talent, and that sometimes injury prone RBs suddenly put it all together. However, in Brandon's case, he'll probably have to prove himself as an undrafted free agent.
