were barley worse last year than in 2011 or 13, you cant blame him for 2012 and not give credit for 2011 at the same time. Really his numbers through 3 years are almost identical. The difference this year is the defense is awesome. Panthers are also scoring almost the same amount of PTS per game as the past two seasons.

Damn I'm 5 minutes

From Byers field, but I wont be home during the game.

If you mean the

format or layout of the site, yes I would say it does. I think it is time for an overhaul on the site. This has grown much bigger than a "blog".

No they would love him until he did something bad

like the poster initially said. Browns fans will love anyone who does well for them. But the first time Henne would have a bad game and throw 3 picks everyone would turn on him. This is how Browns fans are with any QB, throw in the MICH ties and it would be out of control.

Nationally the media and preception is that he is a bad QB. I personally feel that he can be a good QB and was in a bad spot in Miami. I think he fits what the Browns want in a QB very well. He has a strong arm, throws accurate short balls, but can stretch the field when needed.

That said I dont expect the Browns to look at him seriously.

But yes look at what you said. "When Braylon was scoring 17 TDs". Yes, and then look when he started dropping balls and everyone turned on him. Then we get to hear 1000 times about how Robiske got the short end of the stick, now QB, etc etc. Even though he sucks ass.

Same stuff

on ESPN. Front page of their Recruiting is an article about how Florida got 6 and landed Taylor. and how we landed 4. Whatever though.

Mel Kiper

is an idiot. That is how you should take it.

Thanks for the

history lesson, I thought the BCS startd the year after!!! Regardless, I still think a BCS birth means you had a really good season if not great season.

Look

Regardless of who we would play we need to win a BCS game. We have not won a BCS game yet. Like it or not the BCS is the system we have. Recruits look at this stuff. It's a plus in my mind if we get in.

It looks

like he is destined for a RS and a backup roll for a year or two until he gets coached up. Great potential though.

I think

You cant assume morris will be a stud. You have to take Kiel if he wants to be here. Even with Gardner, yes he has shown potential but we havent seen enough at this point. Im in the seat of a QB in every class. The more talent and competition tbe better it will maje everyone. I doubt bellamy ever starts significant games for us. But you never know. But gardner, bellamy, kiel, morris sounds like a great set of QBs to me.

I disagree

about the RBs, for the most part I thought they had nowhere to run. I know there was a time or two I saw a missed cutback lane or something but overall I thought NW sold out on the run. Just my two cents.

Well

everyone in College Fandom uses DickRod, it's not like Mich fans created it. It was more a WVU thing. Plus his name is Rich anyway.

Yes ha!

I just think, nobody is calling it luck when he does that stuff out of the shotgun. When that happens its because he is better out of the 'gun you know? The fumble right to him for a td is luck. Denard doing what he has shown he can do over the past couple years. Not luck.

I disagree

that the Denard rollout and screen to Smith were lucky. You expect Denard to make those plays and you expect V Smith to be able to run around the fat slow guys. This is the exact matchups you want. You call it luck I call it good players making good plays when they are supposed to. It is subjective I can say that some of the shotgun plays were lucky.

On the first interception even more than his footwork was his poor decison to throw into double coverage imo.

The fact is they still need an RB to step up and be the man. Maybe that is Fitz but being hurt 90% of the time is not "being the man".

I'm not denying the Denard is better out of the gun. I just dont the under center stuff was as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be.

I totally agree with you

see: Brian Robiskie.

Guy has done nothing but every year I hear how he will be the man and is going to step it up.

It is called

Psych, it is/was on USA and is on netflix streaming.

Personally I thought it was just ok.

Ok so he

plays a more pro style set. Then what? Your behind even more nowr because next year you have a better QB come in and you have to teach the other 80+ players, not just the QB, the new offense. So now you have a fresh QB who cant look to his teammates for knowledge or support because it's all new to them too.

Look if they cant complete a pass after faking a hand-off I don't know what to tell you. I think RR did a good job catering to their strengths as much as he could.

It sucks but they were bad QBs. Its a shame that is all that was on the roster for RR to work with.

The article talks about

the starting formation. I would be interested to see the numbers on the whole game and season.

IT is

tomvh at mgoblog.com

Ive been talking about some advertising with him. They are good rates imo. I have not pulled the trigger yet but will in the future.

I'm pretty sure

that I drank so much during the season and days after that I already forgot who GERG was.

I thought

2/3 recruiting sites thought Big Will projected better at OLine anyways?

We dont necessarily

have to run the spread option. Just pieces of it. Maybe he will be able to incorporate some triple option plays and speed options out of the shotgun too. There are plenty of ways to get Denard runs.

Incorporating the read option shouldn't be that hard anyways. The players know the plays. I'm confident the coaching staff will be able to educate themselves on it and some of the keys.

I wouldn't expect him to run for 1500 yards again but I still think he will break the 1k mark barring injury.

What I'm more wanting to see is who will win the RB job.

I have nothing to add

I am just a positive person and wanted to join the fun.

I was thinking

about how Stanford plays a 3/4 and we play a 3-3 sometimes 3/4 and our defense never blitzes like that.

Whats not to like. They run plays out of tons of formations. They shift, they motion. Play action. They get everyone involved. They keep the defense from getting complacent and you never know whats gong to come next.

The defense tackles well. They communicate. They have good fundamentals. They know where to be on the field and how to read the offense and how to get off of blocks.

Yeah

they probably lost 2-4 more games than they should have. They lost what 3 in the final minutes of the game? McCoy and Hillis look like they can be solid. There are still holes though at WR and key defensive positions. McCoy should get better. Hopefully Hardesty can compliment Hillis next year and one of the WRs step up. I think they are on the right track for once and they have a good foundation to build on.

I always

liked this kid. It's too bad with the injury this year. Hopefully next year he can stay healthy and showcase his talents for the full season.

So

Fred Jackson is all of sudden a bad coach? I think at some point you have to give one of the other guys a shot. You cant put Smith on the outside and expect him to outrun and juke defenders.

I know we were losing but there is no reason Denard should be throwing the ball 40 times a game. I like RR and support him but it's like he never makes adjustments.

I dont think

there is any proof that RR doesn't understand special teams is there? He recruited one of the best kickers in the nation in Gibbons who we were all salivating over during his all star game and highlights. So far he has busted. He recruited an very good punter and got another kicker this year.

Punt and kick returns I will agree with though. No reason not to have Stonum back there on KO returns if he is healthy. Punt returns I think was hurt a little with injuries. I also think the coverage teams will get better once we accumulate depth on the roster.

The D is no excuse but I'm willing to give it another year, not really with GERG though.

Same here,

It was a good article, nice read. I like his comments about being a Michigan Man. I 100% agree. It sounds like he has matured a lot. Good for him.

The wife got me

one of these

and a couple PS3 games. I'm loving the jacket.

I'm sorry

but I dont see what the point of using Gallon as a wildcat type QB would be. We have Denard Robinson as our QB. Who runs wildcat type plays regularly throughout every drive. And we all know what his stats were this season.

Sorry If

I thought

the same thing when I read that list. They are good, but I'm not sure how much/well they are competing with the D1 and D2 teams in Ohio.

I just

Drove home my 35-40 min ride took 3 hours. I feel your pain. Sorry that you missed the game but downtown was/is currently a disaster area.

Go Manny though.

Didn't we

learn from the Three/Sheridan year about the importance of QB Depth? We have 3 QBs, two will graduate at the same time. We have Gardner who has potential but is not proven. Id rather take a QB this year. RS him. Then skip next year or take a more of a project type next year.

I think we should be taking a QB every year until Tate and Denard graduate. There is always the option of Denard going pro after his junior year. Yes he will probably not translate into QB at the next level but he is such a great player he could easily go high in the draft with a heisman like year.

Tate is saying the right things but there are no guarantees there. I think we need one every year for the forceeable future. As it stands now you will have

2011:

JR, JR, RSFrosh

2012:

SR, SR, RS Soph

2013:

RSJR, young guys again

Plus

infinity to you for all of the work you have done on these this season. These are all great and I looked forward to them every Monday.

This one is by far my favorite. Thank you again for making these.

All things considered

Yes it is out of line. The fact is that those teams were better than us those two years, and are better than us this year. You cant expect to beat teams that are better than you. But you hope to win a couple here and there.

If the same shit happens next year? Yeah i'll be pissed off. But '08 and '09. It sucks for sure, but what did you really think was going to happen? All biased fandom aside? I mean we talked ourselves into 6-7 wins with Threet and Sheridan starting at QB.

It all hinges on the defense. Wisconsin did the same thing that MSU did to us last year. Keep our offense off the field. 3 first half possessions is putting a lot of pressure on the Offense. But you know what, the plays were there. The WRs were open. If the players execute, then they will score.

They

Just lost on the playlets to St. Eds so the timing make sense. I always thought he looked like a player with a lot of potential. We will see though with the whole Glenville thing.

Omg

Lets out Boise in the mc for ass raping Iowa/Idaho. /drunk post

I pretty much

agree here. Tate, while a good QB, still has the same issues as he had last year.

 • He is impatient in the pocket
 • He throws into tight coverage way too often
 • He goes for the huge play too often, especially when there are guaranteed yards elsewhere.

That said, Tate is a great scrambler, great at evading rushers. He is a better runner than probably given credit for. He is a better pure thrower than Denard.

Even if the offense with Denard is stalling. It is hard to take him out when he can go the distance on any given play, with his legs or arm. In retrospect Denard didn't have that great of a day on the ground. But it seemed like Illinois almost dared him to beat them with his arm and he did it.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Tate sprinkled in a little. I just think you have to be very careful about the timing of it.

Any of the 10 times we needed

A crucial 1st on 3rd or 4th down and our QBs had it with any easy run or dump off and them me screaming for them to just run it for the first. Then my heart stopping as they threw it downfield with the ball in the air followed by immense joy once it was caught for a huge play.

It has not happened

because they have been on campus for what 4 months?

Its not JUST the freshman. Its the career backups and backups to the backups Seniors that are starting as well. Look I root for James Rodgers all day long but in the end there is a reason he moved around 5 times and never saw the field for anything but mop up duty. He plays his ass off but it's just not there.

RR has swung and missed on some recruits and in my opinion two D Coordinators. I think (HOPE) he now sees that he cant go after these borderline guys. It's one thing to take the risk on a guy like Dorsey not getting in. But another to do it on project guys.

I see the defense and I think it should be better as well. Im also excited about a lot of the young guys RR has recruited. I just think there needs to be better defensive coaching around them.

Our Young players on D

will either get better, or the wont. Simple as that. I'm just gong to watch and root for this team as hard as I can. These kids are out there giving 100% every Saturday.

Exactly

And we have a first year starter Sophomore. He will turn the ball over and he will make some bad choices over the rest of the season. I mean its one thing if the coaches are telling the QB to throw into coverage and the RBs to hold the ball wrong. Its another thing when youth and inexperience happen.

You never know.

But can you really blame the coaching staff for not playing them if they are sucking in practice? I mean, how would they know otherwise? I guess at some point if a player is playing so bad you have to at least try someone else.

I get what you are saying

but we also have to be realistic in the process that is taking place.

Personally

I am worried about every team left on the schedule. But I am confident that this team will win 2-3 more games.

Because he is

a huge upgrade at whatever position he ends up playing. If it is corner then you now have two solid corners and better odds that 1 of the 3 freshman that will be sophomores next year improves to a quality level.

The corner spots go from above average and terrible to very good and above average. JT can also make strides to be very good as well.

If he plays saftey we already know what he can do there and he is a major upgrade there as well to anything on the roster.

We're banking on him comming back and our Freshman and Sophomores improving enough to make this D competent.
