Block M vandalized at Michigan Stadium
Ok, which one of you did it?
http://police.umich.edu/?s=crime_log&d=2010/3/30
"A caller reported that the block M in the Michigan Stadium was vandalized. A 6’ x 4’ strip of the block M was cut from the football field. The incident occurred between 3:30 pm on 3/26/10 and 11:30 am on 3/29/10. Case under investigation.
Case Status: Incident Report #10-001082 - open as of 3/29/2010"
Where is Carl Spackler when you need him?
Gophers?!? I thought you said golfers.
Does RR golf? This has to be his fault. Call the freep.

Gophers! The - little - brown - furry - rodents!
Carl: We can do that; we don't even have to have a reason. All right, let's do the same thing, but with gophers!
also vandalism on the architecture building - oooh that is so political.

"I just spray-painted a building. Take THAT world!"

I consider your anarchy to be subtle!
Someday the world will see and understand.
And the rest of us on MGoBlog will remember that we read it here first.

A friend of mine saw this in Ypsi:

awesome.
How did nobody notice this for 3 days?
I think during the off season, it's rare for anyone to be in the stadium on the weekend.
that in this day and age there should be some kind of surveillance on the stadium 24/7. Put a camera somewhere. Easy enough. It just irks me to think that some buckeye fan could be parading around his trailer park with a slice of the block M.
But the footage didn't get reviewed till Monday.

If I can't have justice, can I at least have sound financial advice?
Justice and financial advice are worthless in these dangerous times. We need some robot insurance, ASAP!
and robots are strong.
this calls for fire to be liberally applied.
Do not FUCK with The Big House.
...that I too wondered if it was going to be about a Michigan fan, instead of just thinking it was going to be about an opposing fan? Sigh.
It was probably him; he must have been just itching to commit a crime of some sort. (just kidding).
And, uh, what the hell is this???
how every comment is from a michigan fan just ripping him and none of his fans defend him...
Wow... if it's not a joke page, I hope that his 12 year kid isn't crying after he reads what a bunch of fans wrote about his dad...
I really hope this won't make them stop leaving the Stadium open once construction is done. I've never been out on the field and because of the boxes I still haven't, and if some idiot stealing part of the field is going to make them start locking it up, I'm going to be almost as angry as I was/am about the hockey game (almost might be a little too much. "Kind of" might be more appropriate).
I coach at a small high school and we have 24 hour camera surveillance (recorded) in and around our stadium. Were even in the burbs!
I say we set up a mgoblog stadium watch team. We each can take turns watching the stadium to prevent any further vandalism.
We can wear uniforms like this
OUR BERETS GOT WINGS!!!
MGoWatch, I call first shift.
I call The Game 2011... book it.
I just wanted a personalized doormat that reminded me of home. No big deal...

A six-foot by four-foot strip? Or is that a typo and they meant six inches by four inches? I can't imagine someone could walk out with such a huge bit of the carpet.
March 30th, 2010 at 12:10 PM ^
6'x4' is standard for an area rug. I am not condoning the act but that would be a sweet man cave area rug.
March 30th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
clearly cannot be argued with. However, were I invited to anyone's house and saw this inside, I would unfortunately have to report them.
Why?
Because you don't FUCK with The Big House.
According to the DetNews: http://detnews.com/article/20100330/SPORTS0201/3300413/Block--M--at-Mic…
That should be "6-inch by 4-foot".
March 30th, 2010 at 11:08 AM ^
they'll be wearing ski masks so the cameras won't give us much.
March 30th, 2010 at 11:11 AM ^
Yeah it hurst when someone vandalizes my school, but they were planning on replacing the turf anyway. Whomover did it should get the barwis treatment.
March 30th, 2010 at 11:25 AM ^
They should go through an intense workout regimen focusing on explosive football-related movements and become very well-conditioned athletes?
March 30th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
In the grand scheme of things the people who did this will likely be fined and/or do community service which would be a slap on the wrist. I was thinking more along the lines of Barwis delivering a more painful punishment than any other slap on the wrist could. That or set the wolves after them.
March 30th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
Honestly, I'd be surprised if the perpetrators even get caught. HOWEVA, if forensic evidence is discovered that ties some poor ole OSU fans to the crime, I do agree that capital punishment Barwis-style is in order. May God have mercy on their souls.
March 30th, 2010 at 11:25 AM ^
Are they replacing the turf this summer? I'd like to get some of the turf that they are going to throw out. My Dad and I got some of the scraps they didn't use back in the summer of 2003.
MGoDumpsterDiving anyone?

March 30th, 2010 at 12:48 PM ^
He bumped UGLis.
New year at Michigan, same old stuff going on in the stacks.

Aren't there workers working on the chairback seating inside the bowl at the stadium?
March 30th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Late on a Friday afternoon, one of them suddenly jumps up from his work, runs 90 rows down to the field, jumps the wall, runs out to the 50, whips out his box cutter and takes up a big patch of turf, rolls it up, runs back up, and keeps working, and nobody notices?
March 30th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Sent out some of their crimin... Errr.. Football players to steal the field bc after the school pays Izzo there won't be any cash left...
I think an MSU fan did it.
Just thought I'd get that out there. I was at the Wings game, srsly. I went with a buddy, so he'll vouch for me. And seriously, what frackin' nimrod would want, like, 30% of the block M? Take it all, or take none. Do, or do not; there is no try.
