Best and Worst Stats for all FBS Teams
Came accross this on Reddit and thought it was pretty intersting. Some blogger found two stats for every team, one in which they led the country and one in which they were the worst. Obviously he or she had to come up with some pretty obscure stats given how many teams there are.
My favorites are the ones that you don't necessarily want to lead in, such as "Most Field Goals on the Road"-Duke and "Most points scored in games that were lost"-EMU.

I would think Michigan's worst would be that the defense as good as it was only recovered two fumbles all year. Were there possibly other teams that did worse in that category this year?

That was the first thing that came to my mind, the fact that teams NEVER lose a fumble against us.
When Penn State muffed that punt, I had to pick my mouth up off the floor before I could cheer.

Indiana - "best" at "field goals at home." In a season where they lost 4 separate home games by 8 or less points --- 3 of those games (Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State) would have been potential program-changing victories. OUCH.
Iowa - "best" at not allowing big (20+ yard) plays in their losses. That is true. What a horrible way of reminding Iowa fans about the nature of their loss. Again, OUCH.
Maryland - teams not only didn't punt to Will Likely, they didn't kickoff to him either. And being Maryland, teams were kicking off quite a bit.
Purdue - they allowed 43.3 PPG in games against FBS teams that had losing records --- and at least 41 in every single one of them. But they did win one of them (Nebraska)!

LSU - Best: Rushing attempts against D on first down Worst: Number of third down conversion attempts. Wonder if those two things might be related...
