Amen, thank you.

Good perspective. The Ohio State thing has made us all jumpy and ready to lash out at anything that does not look like instant death to Urban Meyer.

We got Jim Harbaugh as our coach. If he wants his mom to coach the tight ends, I don't care. We got Jim Harbaugh as our coach.

This is called building a coaching tree, who knows 15-20 years from now he could be the head coach.
Nevertheless, everyone should read the Mercury News Article, kid was adamant that he didn't want a handout, he's paid his dues.
Think its a great hire, welcome Jay!

Paying his dues by getting hired by his uncle and then dad? Damn, I wish I had it that tough..

The vast majority of these coaches have some previous relationship with Jim Harbaugh. Just because Jay is his son doesn't mean Jim can't judge his ability objectively.

Yes, we don't know. But I know Harbaugh wouldn't hire a guy if he didn't know he can coach TEs.

2-Given his role with the Ravens, I could see him being the "cool young guy to recruits" and "progressive offensive stathead" on the staff.

Better email Harbaugh. No way he knows what he's doing when hiring a TE coach.
*Looks at the three NFL tight ends who played for Harbaugh at Stanford*
Oh shit.

Actually, no its not. That is the exact defintion of nepotism. It is possible to hire a relative and it be a good hire, but it is still technically nepotism.
January 13th, 2015 at 9:54 PM ^
Yeah because Harbaugh's hiring record is so abysmal and self-serving. Just a bunch of yes-men who managed to send scores of unheralded recruits to the NFL along the way.
Give me a fucking break.
January 13th, 2015 at 9:52 PM ^
Personally I don't care. I mean obviously it is nepotism, but fuck we have Jim Harbaugh coaching the team.

This will be the first time Michigan has a coach younger than me. I got used to all the players being younger than me recently, but thought I had a way to go till I was older than the coaches

Good good.
Now we have 2 clear scapegoats for every loss with today's 2 hires. The 2 least experienced ones are the easy ones to pile all the blame on for every loss.
Also people were worried about the lack of minorities on the staff. Based on that beard, worry no more. All the gingers will belong to us.

Andy Dalton could use a 5th year.

Take away his last name, and people would think this was the worst position coach hire in the country. The guy is barely older than the players he will be recruiting and has zero experience with TEs. This is ridiculous.
