Trey Burke etched his name in Michigan history in his sophomore year but his freshman year was significant in itself. He ended the year as Bit Ten freshman of the year in the media poll. He lead the team to an apperance in National Championship and had a number of jaw dropping performances that wont soon be forgotten by the Michigan faithful.

Following the season, he was named an AP First-Team All-American receiving the most votes and being one of only 5 consesnus All-Americans in Michigna History. He was also named to the First Team Big-Ten team. He also won the Bob Cousy Award, Oscar Robertson Trophy, John Wooden Award, and he was named the AP player of the year.

Trey Burke was drafted 9th overall by the Timberwolves in the 2013 draft.

Love Trey, but I can name at least 10 better UM bball players. Of course I misread the initial poll and only picked football players, so I got no leg to stand on.

The shot against Kansas is still my favorite play in the history of Michigan athletics. Was in Savannah GA with my dad watching that game. Amazing.

I just now saw a response to one of my comments saying these rankings are according to a poll that was on the MGoBoard for a day (August 9 or something).

OP should probably include that in his post.  Unfortunate that the poll wasn't open longer or publicized more. How many people responded?
