Anybody else feeling like there's about a 0% chance there's going to be a hockey player on this list? Shit, I feel like you could reasonably pick two or three guys from the '96 championship team and possibly be underdoing it.

OP, just stop. I know it's not your choice, I know it was unclear/flawed from the beginning; but the second you put an olineman before THE GREATEST OLYMPIAN OF ALL TIME, who broke an ancient greek record mind you, all credibility/fun/whatever-you-thought-this-would-be was lost. just stop

Bro, calm your tits. This poll is just for fun, and doesn't mean anything at all. It has zero effect on your life, and is just a random dude on the internet reminiscing about great Michigan athletes. Furthermore, as he said in the post, these rankings weren't made up by him. I'm always shocked to see what upsets people.

I just find it somewhat laughable that whoever participated in compiling it (and for the life I dont remember ever seeing the poll on the board) must've been VERY young and possessing of little memory of MIchigan athletic history beyond what they themselves have seen or who they heard their dad talk about growing up.

I'm waiting for the day that Jordan Kovacs, Zolton Mesko or Nik Staukas hit the list and I've already resigned myself to the fact that Denard Robinson is probably sitting at #1.

In 2013 the Michigan Athletic Association (MVictors) did just that and selected the 25 greatest Michigan football players.  So anyone not being considered one of Michigan's all-time greatest football players certainly couldnt be included on a list of the 25 greatest Michigan athletes right?

Let me know where you see Lamar Woodley or Anthony Thomas on that list.  I cant seem to find them.

Anthony Thomas played 20 years ago. That's not exactly recent history. And your argument that an official organization's top list is more precise than an Internet write-in popular vote of a very small subsection of fans is pretty facile. Of course it is. But you're not "upset" about the list, really you aren't.
