À bout de souffle, that sort of thing. Lots of Jean-Paul Belmondo.

I’ve never found a General Tso’s chicken as good as Dinersty’s and I’ve been looking for 25 years.

OMG yes. I've had a lot of Chinese food I think was much much better than Dinersty over the years, but as far as I'm concerned their General Tso's was the Platonic ideal of General Tso's.

I'm a simple man; I see someone referencing Platonic Ideals on a football blog, I upvote.

Ummmmm... Sushi.cum?
November 6th, 2020 at 8:18 PM ^
At one point it was named sushi.come, at a different point I think it switched to sushi.com. They had a goofy name but good food and plenty of TVs for watching football. I assume this was just another Penix joke...

I'm now pretty confident I must have ran into Seth and Rishi at old Mitch's
And I'll 2nd Wherehouse Records.

I was one of the thousands waiting in line at midnight at Wherehouse Records for the release of Use Your Illusion I and II. After listening to both albums I realized I would have been better off getting a good night sleep.

Liberty Street Video! Melrose Street Apartments!
Great segment!

Damn. That list made me feel sad and old. I would buy a Brake for Jake shirt.

Now listening to the show, and Champion House! The kind of Chinese place you could comfortably take your parents, nice place with good food. Ate many times there.
Also loved Great Wall over by the VC, but fell out of the habit of going there once I moved out of East Quad. China Gate just got mentioned -- sad to hear it is gone, but it never would have been my choice. (Already talked about Dinersty in a different comment, though I didn't mention that they would take fax orders in 1993, and I used my computer's fax modem to order General Tso's for delivery at least once a week in grad school.)
(Also appreciated hearing Red Hot Lovers, the Half-Ass, White's Grocery, and Liberty Street Video...)

Mmmm, I used to love Sushi.cum (might want to fix that typo)
November 7th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
It's not a typo it's how we all wrote it when they opened with that name and handed out coupons after hockey games from people saying "Come to Sushi.cum"

No love for Mickey Rat’s or other pinball and video game joints?
