OT: The Saturday drinking thread.
Anyone having anything good? I'm currently tasting most of the Bell's output plus I've had a bit of Crown Royal with Coke and grenadine. Anyone having anything decent? Or a ton of something indecent? Talk about whatever MGoDrinking you've done tonight here.
Awesome stories will be +1'd on sight.

only have had one bc im exhausted from the games and driving in that crap 45 mins back home
February 13th, 2011 at 12:28 AM ^
Haven't had Johnny. Is that your go to drink or something on occasion?
February 13th, 2011 at 12:37 AM ^
probably not for someone who just turned 21. if you need something that does it for you liquor wise just turn to jack daniels or gin. scotch on the rocks is an acquired taste.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:38 AM ^
As far as liquor goes, I'm partial to Jameson for whiskey, and Hendricks for gin. Crown Royal is a good number two, but not something I would order straight at a bar.
February 13th, 2011 at 9:16 AM ^
I actually prefer Johnny Red to the Black, I think it tastes better. Agree, Scotch on rocks, and i add a little water to mellow it out, is acquired, my wife got me into it. I usually drink Dewars or Grants when I can find it, or on special occasions, Glenlivet...
February 13th, 2011 at 1:45 AM ^
ice...cold....sprite, with those little ice chunks in it when it's just about to freeze. i just love the taste of a newly opened bottle. The way the bubbles just tickle your lips, begging you to drink every last drop. I just finished half a bottle, gonna wait till morning to tackle the rest. Going to bed now.

Short's Huma Lupa Licious. On tap at my house.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:35 AM ^
Haven't tried, but an IPA with an A- from BeerAdvocate makes it straight to the top of my to-do list. Where is Short's brewed?
February 13th, 2011 at 12:48 AM ^
In Bellaire, MI, up by Traverse City. I like their Pandemonium Pale Ale and Bellaire Brown too, although Huma Lupa is my favorite.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:51 AM ^
Then I definitely should be able to get it here. I'm buying it on sight, sounds like you have some pretty decent taste. What do you think about Goose Island? Right now they're my favorite, followed by Bells and Great Lakes.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:58 AM ^
If you're in Michigan, you can get Short's beer at a lot of places.
I like Honkers Ale, although I haven't had it in a while. Their other beers I usually enjoy but don't love. Bell's is hit or miss for me. I love Two-Hearted, and Oberon is always enjoyed in the summer. The Best Brown Ale is good too. I don't like any of their stouts though.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:01 AM ^
Matilda is my favorite beer. Hopslam is a close second. The other expensive Goose Island's don't do it for me, but Honkers and 312 are both good. I'm in Indiana now, so I'm probably going to have to look for Short's, but it shouldn't be that tough.
Also, I really like the Java Stout that Bells has.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:09 AM ^
Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure that ever even seen Matilda before. It sounds good though. I'll have to check it out if I can find it. I forgot about Hopslam, but that is a fantastic beer. If you like that, you'll like Huma Lupa Licious. I also enjoy the New Holland beers. Particularly Mad Hatter and The Poet. They're from Holland, Michigan, so they might be available in Indiana.

Matilda is fantastic. Very interesting taste.
I have a MadHatter IPA in my fridge now, and thanks to you will be my next beer. Matilda is one of their Vintage Reserves I believe, it's the yellow four-pack.

I'm still recovering from the insane quantity of alcohol it took to enjoy a "vampire party" last night... Sam Adams Light nightcap for me.

Another Pepsi and Michigan highlights kind of night for me.

Your 12:42 call freaked out my cheerleader as usual.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:59 AM ^
Just had to rub it in, huh? I bet you take change out of the blind man's cup on your days off for laughs.

She's a perfectly respectable girl...in public.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:10 AM ^
Given that you got her liquored up when you made your move certainly takes her into wench territory. But hey, have fun with that when she loses all her teeth and works as a greeter at Wal-Mart...in Ohio.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:12 AM ^
That crosses the line. MGoWar.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:17 AM ^
That came so close to actually impacting my plane of consciousness. But on with it.
Your posts are so dumb, as soon as you post in the thread the mods delete the thread and shoot the server to put it out of its misery.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:20 AM ^
Oh don't worry, we're "shooting blanks". Man, what a clever phrase; I wish I had that kind of brainpower.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:29 AM ^
You talk like a Spartan inmate/fan. All whine and no new ideas. On the plus side, putting up another inane, soul-crushing, utterly useless post has earned you 1 MGoPoint, leaving you with almost one-quarter as many points as me. Clearly, I am the MGoMaster and you are the MGoTroll.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:33 AM ^
ASS is number one in my book! The spread offense is an embarrassment to the school! Fire Dickrod!
MGoTroll status confirmed?
February 13th, 2011 at 1:49 AM ^
Haha. Our MGoWar might have lasted but a short time, but I got more than a few laughs out of it.
February 13th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
I'm totally on the right.

It's Cherrifec!

17 year old crashed the car into a snowbank on the way to his ACT test this morning (probably 2K in damage). Still got there on time, good for him.
Then, drove the wrecked car home and got a speeding ticket (his first).
He's a good kid so it's hard to figure out how to handle this.

My ex's sister was a serious contender (Naval Academy Honor Board President and crazy grades) and couldn't make it past the first cut. +1 for whatever got you that deep into the process.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:58 AM ^
You sure know how to pick 'em!
February 13th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
Haha ex's sister. That ex is currently enrolled at THE Ohio State University. So maybe I really don't know how to pick 'em.
February 13th, 2011 at 2:10 AM ^
My point is that smarts run in families and dating someone related to an academic beast is an accomplishment, even if she chose to enroll at THE Ohio State University and end her academic life before it even began.
February 13th, 2011 at 2:15 AM ^
The sad part is that she's an academic beast too. No clue how she finds friends in Columbus.
February 13th, 2011 at 2:44 AM ^
Drinkin some Red Stag whiskey, RC Cola and ice. Drink of champions and scholars
February 13th, 2011 at 2:45 AM ^
+1 for this being your first point. Won't count, but what the hell.

And that's how you Tanqueray.
But seriously, I'm drinking Tanqueray.
