I remember sitting in the end zone where AC scored that TD. People were heading for the exits and some were already outside the stadium when "the catch" was made. It had to have been the most exciting ending to a game I've ever witnessed, and Anthony Carter will always be my favorite Michigan receiver.
Back in the day, my cousin named his daughter Alicia Christine to have the initials AC for Anthony Carter. Kind of a roundabout way of doing things, but met with the approval of the waifu.
Will be hitting the internet cafe at midnight to get set up to watch any feeds that might be available here in Japan, can't get my Japanese g-friend to watch it with me, gonna work on that...
Was a teenager when AC played and had endzone seats for the Indiana game, therefore witnessed "The Catch." I agree he forced Bo to reconsider the passing game, and everytime he had the ball, he had the chance to score. The Bob Ufer calls when AC had the ball were classic, I have a cousin a few years older than me, named his daughter Alicia Christine(AC) in his honor. Never to discount the acheivements of all those great receivers that came after, but AC was the first player of his kind that I can remember at Michigan, pure electric.
I lived in A2 all my life, went to Pioneer, planned on going to UM, then at 17, my parents move to Alabama. Couldn't afford out of state tution for Michigan, so went to Bama, great disappointment, though couldn't complain about Bama's "scenery."
The highlighter yellow on the numbers reminds me I need more highlighters at the office tomorrow. If they win, it will be at least an acceptable uniform.
Every member of the 1973 team that tried to tear down the M Club banner. I hope there is a special place in hell, or a ring of Inferno reserved for those bastards. It was just a shame the game ended in a tie.
Don't remember this problem in the 70's and 80's, Brandon is quite concerned about brand and image, and seeing all those empty seats on HD on ESPN is really what I noticed with every shot of the North endzone.
Mono sucks, and you can't substitute for rest, try to come back too soon, just prolong the sickness. Mine lasted about 2 months. Got it from a drinking fountain, really!
I'm happy with the effort, the preparation, and the coaching staff putting the best players on the field. Will all the freshman making contributions, shows they are recruiting, and those freshman will be experienced sophomores next year, always liked Keith Jackson's "Only a soph o more." I like that Hoke was pissed off during the post game interview, means he's going to make sure Michigan will be prepared for next week. I like seeing big receivers and big tight ends again...no gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. And that they are contributing and being productive. With the weaknesses on this team, there is still a lot of good, and no dread in watching a Michigan football game.
Being born and raised in A2, lived there for almost 20 years, but not since the 80's. Would have to say A2 isn't what it used to be. Still a great place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there anymore. I agree as well with the statement that it may be the most educated, but smartest? That is up for debate. Ever watch a PhD in Physics try to haggle down the price of used car in Dearborn? Got owned by a dude with a GED. Just sayin'.
Lived in A2 for 16 years as a kid, and never went to either, so I can't really weigh in on the conversation, only to say that, for me, one bad experience is plenty. I'm a foodie wannabe, and think I can cook better than most restaurants out there, except for the pain in the ass things to make, that I'll leave for the professionals, and thoroughly enjoy when I do go out to eat. Good Thai food being one of those things. Oh, and corned beef, once you've had really good corned beef, you'll never go back.
This was set up on purpose, national stage, great programs, national audience. It's not just another game, or a home/home. Gotta hear the MMB play the Victors after a Denard TD. If Bama brings their band, and M doesn't, I'll laugh at DB for the bad move, and be pissed at the same time.
This isn't just some average everyday away game during the nonconference "preseason" against Baby Seal U. This is opening day against the defending Nat Champs on a national stage. Kind of a big deal. If Bama does send their band then Michigan will look cheap.
Normal nonconference away game, fine, no band. Seems to me though that this was put on the schedule to show the country that Michigan is back. Gota have the band!
I so love this gif, it's the whole series of unfortunate events. The initial success of pulling out the tablecloth, then hitting the brother in the nads, which causes him to lurch back in pain and knock the china cabinet on top of him, while the older brother runs out of the way. How perfect was that??
I'm hoping for a good B10 showing in non conference, bring a little legitimacy back to the conference, then let the losses come for Sparty and Ohio in conference.
This board is extremely snarky. It's excellent for in-depth analysis, and up to the minute news, but don't you dare commit a "board faux pas", I even made sure I spelled faux pas correctly by doing an online dictionary search. However, "you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both, and there you have the Facts of Life." -Facts of Life theme song.
As a resident of Big Rapids, I couldn't be happier, other than seeing Michigan make it as well, of course, but it's a great thing for Ferris State. Good luck the rest of the way!!

I can watch this all day, who needs to work.
He seemed very twitchy and high strung, like he was going to lose it at any moment, couldn't imagine a Michigan coach responding like that.
Sauza gold tequila margaritas, gotta pace myself or will be bombed by kickoff.
I like Buffalo Trace, smooth and really good for the price, no so damn 'spensive.
