OT (Somewhat) - Importance of Bowl Practices
I thought this was somewhat relevant and interesting. People have been asking about what can be accomplished in the extra practices leading up to the bowl game. Here is an article that sheds some light.

Preferably ones where we send out our FG Unit and make a FG.

They only get 15 practices, not summer camp two-a-days. I think the Oopty-loop is a more logical plan here.

disagree........that's like saying not having spring practices wouldn't hurt the team

I just wish the M in your post was for MI not MS but whatever. I am so damn tired of those worthless bastards having something to hold over our heads. Let me know if you can tell the Evan Wlliams and Mike's Hard is kicking in.

Huge, to get extra practices. Felt like we were falling behind all the bowl teams last year. Need denard to be a razor come game time.

EDIT: To clarify, I really mean it, thank you for the article. It's nice to read something about the team!

I don't think this is OT.
Bowl practices are extremely important, for all the reasons given in the article. It gives everyone 10 or so practices just to work on fundamentals like tackling, not fumbling, throwing mechanics, and tackling. Plus it provides continuity going into the off-season conditioning program and spring practice. That was really the biggest loss Michigan had last year when it lost seven of eight to end the season.

I meant to add it twice. They need the work.

You get a +1 for finding an article with extensive Brady Hoke quotage. Salud!

The extra practices during bowl season also help the coaches see what young players are making big strides and maybe able to be counted on next year. I think this helps the coaches better determine what positions the last scholarships should go to.

would be with an extra 15-30 practices behind them. No telling how much improved they could be.

Hopefully there will be lots of special teams work. It's all good though, time to work on everything!

Yes it's true that being able to focus just on football, plus the idea that the team may be somewhat playing for RR's job will help.
But, we know the team should focus on the installation of one thing I really miss from Lloyd Carr's days: The Transcontinental!

One of the more underrated comments I've seen today.

He caught it at precisely the 40 yard line... so you can tell exactly how long it took John Navarre to run a 40 under "game conditions."
The verdict is... um... uninspiring.

I'm thinking we implement the fake ball trick. It has to work or if not it would at least be hillarious
