its the second quarter. save bitching about the refs for after the game. Complain about our special teams now
November 27th, 2010 at 1:10 PM ^
I would blame our deficit more on a fumble in the red zone and an 18-yard punt than the refs.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
Refs missed an offsides and called Schilling for a hold two plays before the fumble
Refs also didn't call PI on a 4th down pass to Roundtree inside the 5 (he dropped it, but still)
November 27th, 2010 at 3:27 PM ^
They also didn't call PI on the 3rd down before that.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:20 PM ^
but not as much as Roundtree's inability to catch has...
November 27th, 2010 at 1:20 PM ^
There's been 2-3 times OSU has interfered on our passes that haven't been called. OSU is playing good defense but their DBs are getting to the WRs half a sec early
November 27th, 2010 at 1:21 PM ^
OSU can do no wrong in the eyes of these refs.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:21 PM ^
You're blaming the refs?!?! how about denard missing a wide open roundtree to go up 7-0, then fumbling next drive in the red zone when it was 0-0. How about Roundtree not being able to catch a ball when theres a defender anywhere near him.
I thought it was all Greg Robinson's fault? This offense has been terrible in every big game; give me a break. Bring on a new coach!
November 27th, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
You sir, are a moron. I wait for the day you are banned.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:43 PM ^
Ignoring that the team has been a national joke for 3 years doesn't make you a better fan. Blindly supporting Rich Rod doesn't make you a better fan either. Guess what, fumbles and penalties go back to coaching. Anyone who knows anything about football will tell you that.
If you honestly believe that the small community of mgoblog who believes Rich Rod is doing a good job is right compared to the entire slew of football experts across the country who acknowledge he is doing a poor job, then it is you sir who is ignorant and a moron.
Fans like you are the reason Michigan fans were voted most ignorant in a poll of fans across the country.
Oh and please neg me
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
Fans like you make me laugh. You listen to what "analysts" aka paid consultants say, rare that you find one that escapes the pack mentality. It's ok, you are able to follow like a sheep. Hateful and foolish people seldom look beyond what is fed to them.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
Like you regurgitating what Brian feeds you? I bet Brian is at least considering the idea that RR needs to go.
Quit pretending the coach isn't responsible for his team's performance. My god you must not know much about football.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:27 PM ^
keeping telling yourself this, maybe you will better when you read it a few more times.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:28 PM ^
We've made mistakes but this game would have a completely different look if it weren't for the refs.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:23 PM ^
Not saying the refs have been fair, but Roundtree caught those passes all season. Just because he drops them now doesn't mean they are blown interference calls. The D got there a split second early, but that is just good coaching. Unlike our coaching. Hey Vincent Smith, run right into a wall! RUN A SCREEN!! He will SCORE!! (sorry, really frustrated.)
November 27th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
He's actually been dropping passes just about every week this season - though never as many as today.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:26 PM ^
What about all the drops on catchable balls and Drob's ball security on the first drive?
This game could easily be 21-24 right now if Michigan had made 4 more catches and Drob hadn't fumbled.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:38 PM ^
Uhhhhhhh, lol seriously? Losers blame refs.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:38 PM ^
Are we going to start blaming losses on the officials? That sounds like Penn State fans, not Michigan fans.
Quit beating ourselves and this game is completely different. Officiating is just the cherry on top.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:44 PM ^
A majority of the people on this blog would rather blame ANYONE than Rich Rodriguez. It's quite the spectacle.
Also, points don't matter, only yards.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:41 PM ^
Yards is all that matters and we've got LOTS of them!
This friggin crap about yards and offense is ridiculous. The reason the last three years have sucked is because 150 lb RB and QB carry the ball and get the ball dislodged by bigger athletes.
Commence your NEG BANGS!
November 27th, 2010 at 1:45 PM ^
Turnovers are random, bro.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:50 PM ^
Random? Def - proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern.
Not quite. Though turnovers are not planned, they are influenced by factors controlled by the players.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
There are plenty of ball security drills out there that have been used by good players and coaches for years.

November 27th, 2010 at 1:47 PM ^
It's not rhe refs... Our defense is playing well enough to keep it close if only the offense and special teams would pick it up as well.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
we have fucked ourselves. But the refs have screwed us a couple of times. Even the announcers have called them out at least twice. Both of which would have resulted in continued drives.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:07 PM ^
Also they didn't review the OSU interception but did review the fumble. Michigan should still have the ball.
November 27th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^
i was thinking the same thing. but i think we're kidding ourselves if we think the officials cost us this game. ohio state was clearly better.
November 27th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
Rodriguez could have called a time out to encourage a review of the interception. One of his negatives is that he doesn't seem to make good use of his timeouts and he's not very good at clock management.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:12 PM ^
Stop whining.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:25 PM ^
Now the D is falling apart. The refs have sucked, but no way are we losing because of them. We're killing ourselves.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
I'm quitting the internet. No more TV, I want to stay the hell away from the Midwest except for Ann Arbor. This sucks.
Forget it. If he goes, he goes. He's a good coach, but maybe just not the right man for Michigan. I also blame God and the universe, karma, etc. How is this fair? We haven't had any miracles. I hoped that today would bring redemption for RR, but instead people now have a stronger case against him. Not just a close loss, but we're getting destroyed in a game I sincerely thought we could win.
And what makes it worse is that there are things that aren't RR's fault. It's not his fault that Troy Woolfolk got injured for the season, that his highly rated kicker hasn't panned out. He stuck to his principles and suspended Hagerup, and we're completely fucked without him. And when I look at the problems with the defense, I see problems chalked up to a few mistakes whose ramifications have been incredibly severe.
November 27th, 2010 at 3:44 PM ^
Losers blame the refs.
Huge losers blame the refs in blow-out losses.
November 27th, 2010 at 4:12 PM ^
You want to blame the refs and we lose by 30?
November 27th, 2010 at 6:52 PM ^
But to suggest we would have had a chance of winning if we had every call fo for us instead of against us is laughable.
