Has he ever played in a Game at Michigan and cannot recall?
I'm sure if he played in a game, he would be sure to remember it.
Cone is from a Veer Option team in H.S. (http://mgoblog.com/content/upon-further-review-offense-vs-central)
Is there any hope that he could see at least a snap this season? After all, he has been pretty loyal to the team and deserves at least a pity-kneel down in the waning seconds of a victory over OSU...right? Would he remember that snap?
I don't think you're allowed on the field with a baseball cap and a clipboard in hand.
He's played in 2 career games. Earned his Varsity letter last year.
Can he recall those games?
The reason Cone doesn't start despite his incredible rating is that he has zero short term memory. So yes, he's played in games and no, he can't recall it.
He has a tattoo on his hand that says "Jim T. raped and murdered my wife"
Nice. Memento was awesome.
He doesn't believe Teddy's lies.
He has definitely been our most consistent QB in the RR era
Coner completed a 30 yard pass against Minny in '07.
He is definitely my pick to be Michigan's starter this year.
Please, please, please, no Nick Sheridan.
IMHO, he should start the season. With a career QB rating of 276.40 he can't be that bad, amirite?

I heard (sometime, somewhere...) that Cone was sort of a Loeffler "project". Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
I've heard this is true as well. He was brought in with no expectation of him ever being at the top of the depth chart. At most, he was expected to be a mop-up guy or perhaps a starter late in his career. The coaches never expected him to challenge for playing time early in his career. With Loeffler's track record of developing quarterbacks, who knows? It could have turned out well.
Probably wasn't that big of a gamble at the time with Henne, Forcier (I), Mallett, oh yeah and Loeffler. That is until 2007-08 when the qb corp just evaporated.
I never gave it that much thought until he got beat out by Threetidan. Then I was just like "why the hell is this guy here burning a scholarship?".
Got to hand it to his loyalty, though. No animosity towards him, but still, why...
He's been a team player, hasn't complained, and is well liked even though he looks like the kid banjo player from "Deliverance". While it sucks he's not even an after thought about getting playing time he's a Michigan man if there ever was one.
I would imagine he is on scholarship for his loyalty. It's not like they don't have a few extras right now, anyway. I'm sure if he was "in the way" and his scholly was needed, his scholly would disappear.
There are loads of people who are on scholarships who never contribute on the field. David Cone is one of many. Michigan isn't in the practice of revoking scholarships to non-contributors. They may not offer a 5th year on scholly, but that's a different story.
Jason Kates never played.
Neither did Brandon Logan.
Neither did Doug Dutch.
There are some of "those guys" on every team.
Doug Dutch totally played. On offense.
Doug Dutch contributed about as much on game days as I have.
I'm not saying he threw the team on his back, but he did play.
Brandon Logan played, like, one game, too. I think Jason Kates got in a game or two in 2007. But none of them played important roles. None of them played much more than Cone has. That's why I put them all on the same plateau.
