OT: Ann Arbor Power Outages Last Night
So, last night the power (at least in south AA near Hill Street) went out about 10 times. I have looked around the internet and found nothing talking about it. I realize it's not that important, but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about it or experienced it anywhere else in town. I kept hearing what I thought was a transformer blowing every few minutes. Any information, thanks!
I'll just apologize in advance to the board for posting this, as I'm sure some people won't be appreciative of it. So, sorry!

And I follow a lot of Twitter users in that area who post about power outages (geeks, etc.). ArborWiki links to DTE outage maps:

Outstanding! I did not realize that dilithium has the effect of absorbing all energy around it . . . What does this mean for the Notre Dame game next year under the lights? Are there lights in existence that can withstand dilithium?

"Dennard was out jogging last night"
Darqueze Dennard was jogging on our campus and no one tripped him? Have we gone soft?

Jogging? Denard never jogs.

Its all relative, right? Denard probably "jogs" but Denard : jogging :: cheetah : sprinting.

Nah, RR just finished reading Frankenstein and is now cloning Mike Martin. Ten times? Ten FrankenMartin's will be joining the defense soon....

What I heard was that GERG was trying to blow dry his hair while his wife was running the vacuum and his kid was heating up a burger on the Foreman Grill. Every time he turned on the hair dryer, the power went out. That's the price you pay for great hair.

Puh-leaze!!! GERG obviously has a deluxe one of these, which draws a LOT more electricity. No way he can get that foxy hair with just a conventional hand-held model...

I assumed he used both. For the more delicate hairs that require precision, he uses the Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 3600. It pulls 1600 Watts with a voltage of 110. It also has a ionizer, 9 foot cord, concentrator, ceramic casing, quiet technology and variable heat control. Plus, you can get all that for only $260. GERG knows a deal when he sees one.

This happened very close to my house. A transformer(??) blew up directly behind where SAE lives on Washtenaw/Hill. Every 8 minutes the power would flicker and then an INTENSE flash of multicolored light would appear. It was deafeningly loud too. The fire dept was really slow to react.
I have a video of it on my blackberry that I'd upload if I could figure out how.
