Va Tech/Boise 2nd Half Line/Open Thread

Submitted by jamiemac on

well, well we have a football game. Should be a fun second half. That Boise +1.5 line, could see that hook come in handy. Interesting. Boise starts the half with the ball. Can they come out swinging like the first half?

Here is the second half point spread, I want to get a mgo strawpoll on it

VT -2.5 over Boise

This is just for the combined score of the second half, plus any OT played. So, if you take VT on this line, you technically have them at +3.5 for the final score.

Thoughts?

Also, there are a couple threads going on this game, both have been pushed to the second page. How about this serve as a new open thread for the second half so new arrivals on the night can find it.

Should be a great second half. Two of my favorite teams. I have to keep from fisting pumping every Va Tech good play because I formally took Boise.

Boise State is going to win.

Good game man, they come into a packed VT house, blow a 17 pt game, and then come back and win it. Got a lot of poise, this team.

National Championship worthy team?

Sorry Boise, this doesn't get you into the NC game.  You went to sleep for 2.5 quarters and VA Tech didn't put you away.  Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, hell, most teams would put you away.

Being a VA Tech student, I'm guessing you know just as well as anyone else that Beamer Ball lost this game, rather than Boise winning it.

I respect Boise's ability and I think they are a very good team.  If they win out, or even if they lose a game, they deserve to be in a BCS bowl.  However, the national champion should be a team that had to compete just about every week to get into that game, not for three weeks out of the year.

That is true.  I don't know what exactly happened to Boise but I agree Tech lost the game.  But Alabama last year played bad many times, they almost lost to Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn.  It is slightly different that Boise doesn't have as many chances for the good wins so they need to really step up but in the end they still won.  I can't help but root for these non-BCS teams.  I don't understand why everybody hates them so much.  Underdog stories are awesome.

Also, congrats to the VaTech offense for going into total panic and just throwing deep strikes without any regard to getting a first down or trying for the FG.  If your entire 1 minute drill is low percentage deep balls to WRs with stone hands, you need to rewrite that section of the playbook.

The Beavers can't seem to ever put it together until October.  They're also breaking in a new quarterback.  I'd be very surprised if they beat Boise State.

Boise State is a very good team, no doubt, but the whole play one big game to start the season, then cruise to undefeated thing is getting old.
