When are we going to beat OSU in a sport that people actually care about? I can barely remember what it's like to beat them in anything anymore. Jesus.

We beat them last year at Crisler.

Not just hockey, but I'm an avid follower of our baseball team. They beat OSU consistently... and on ESPN most years.

I care about hockey, and I think Michigan fans in general care too.

Totally uncalled for cheap shot by Novak. It was a shame because he was becoming my favorite player on the team. He took a major step back with that one elbow. Senseless.

butbutbut he's such a blue collar worker, a real student of the game.

I prefer scrappy. Isn't he a coach's son?

stepped on the guys face. Who does that?

Not sure I see the big deal. He got kicked out of the game as he deserved. Not sure it requires much else.

Don't be such a homer (not directed just at you "me" but others posting as well). It was a a blatant cheap shot. If OSU had done it to us people would be stomping around calling for the guys head and saying things like "seee! they have no class."
I agree with the gnome, I was really starting to like Novak and this takes him down a peg in my book. (this is a rash judgement not knowing if Hill had messed with Novak earlier or anything like that)

I agree that it was a cheap shot and he got booted from the game. This was completely deserved. What I am saying, that I don't think he needs to be suspended any further. If Beilein wants to make him run stairs or dock him minutes, I would understand. I'm just not calling for the kid's head.

I think the fact that the game was already over means he should have to sit next game. I wouldn't be surprised if JB puts him on the pine. I actually think he should. It'll be a good lesson for a freshman.
January 29th, 2009 at 11:14 AM ^
I would argue that saying he should be suspended for a game or two is not "calling for his head".
January 29th, 2009 at 11:20 AM ^
You're right a game or two would not be "calling for his head." That was exaggeration on my part. While I personally don't even think he needs that, I would understand. But anything beyond two games is excessive.

I agree with that.
Initially I noticed on the telecast that JB didnt really seem that upset, but the announcers were lauding for JB for not chewing him out on the court, guessing that he would deal with it in the locker room.
I am sure he had some words for Novak afterwards, and after thinking about it I actually agree with the announcers that for the sake of the kid and the team it was better not to chew him out on hostile turf. woo Beilein and all that.
