It's Quebec where high school lasts as long as you want it to. In the other provinces (or at least Ontario, the relevant province) it's the same as American high school with an optional Grade 13 year.
Cheevers is one of the first, and certainly the most famous, guys to paint his helmet with any sort of design. Gilles Gratton is also famous for his design and also for being a crazy person.
2014 Team Canada Olympic team was the most dominant seven consecutive games I've ever seen. Those Sweden and USA games could have gone on ten hours each and neither team was ever going to score on them.
I'll never forget the one run where Hart jukes and breaks like fifteen tackles in the backfield before finally getting loose and sprinting down field for a touch down. Best part is the way the fullback on it starts celebrating even though he totally whiffed on every block he attempted on the play.
I believe this is the second time my alma mater has been mentioned on this blog. The other time was for the whole Todd O'Brien mess three years ago. Any publicty is good publicity!
And you know, Jim Boehem was very consistently following the rules the whole time. I have to laugh a little bit when our own posters call it cheating. And they actually listen to a couple of compliance officers who will never be athletic direcors if they think Boeheim cheated. Of course you guys won't write that because somebody said it. Without Jim Boeheim the Big East wouldn't have lasted ten ****ing years. OK? Not ten. The rest of the coaches just weren't ready, they needed him. Without him there, not ten. the NCAA wouldn't even be here for us to have this conversation about. And everyone is telling me and writing about Boeheim cheating? The most bullshit thing I have seen in thirty years. And especially when it comes from our sport's own fans, but you quote somebody else, an anonymous compliance officer. Let the compliance officer come up to me and say "Jim Boeheim cheated." I'd like to see one of them come up to me and say that. All of his moves were doubly scrutinized, and the voters voted him to the Hall of Fame in 2005. Because the voters don't know **** I guess.
Pretty much the greatest thing ever. Any of those early 80s REM studio outtakes are the best. My all time favorite is Voice of Harold when Stipe forgot the words to 7 Chinese Brothers and just read off liner notes to a record he found in the studio during his take.
Yeah, IIRC it was on Larry Stevens, he got into the backfield cleanly and a Spartan just grabbed him and held on to block him. If it wasn't for the clock issue everyone would remember that play.
Crable doesn't deserve to be shit on years later for two mental mistakes and unsubstantiated rumours. He came from a tough background, was a hell of a player, and doesn't deserve his own fan base treating him like this.
I've been to one. (Devils vs. Rangers in Yankee Stadium last year). Cool novelty, glad I saw an outdoor game once, but I have no desire to ever do it again though. As Brian said, it was freezing cold and I was way further from the ice than I would have been at an NHL arena.
Sauer was fantastic that whole season. .930 SV% performance all year. Watching him implode against Notre Dame in 20 minutes and undo that whole season of good work was painful.
I read the blog at lunch. Obviously no one here cares that I spend part of my lunch break surfing the internet, but yes, they do care about NSFW images still. This thread seems entirely divided between people who have office jobs and people who don't. Since people who read mgoblog at work are presumably a huge part of its readership, I don't think it's that much to ask to please help us in our quest to not get fired.

"I can get hype about an Australian punter only."
Completely forgetting about Michigan's Romanian punters.
Don't praise the machine.
Well that's what I get for talking about a place I moved from fifteen years ago I guess.

When does his collaboration with David Cone come out?
I someday wish to be as heterosexual as you are, you big manly man you.
Dennis, see those alluring lights?
Today will be your very last on the team

Sheeeeeeeeiiit.
I've been in a coma since August 31, 2007. How's the team been looking since then?
In fact I think it was Brian referencing Dig Me Out that convinced me to give them a shot.

I will always love Mike Hart. What a hero.

Someone who was on the field when the touchdown was scored has to kick the extra point. I don't see how this isn't the most exciting idea.
Gus Johnson screaming "FAROKMENASH" will always be my favorite thing ever.

Looks like I can't upvote right now, so take this manual response as your +1 for that link.

I predate mgopoints. I became more of a lurker right around the time the point system was introduced.
I have been reading mgoblog for an insanely long time and it's sort of depressing at this point.

Go blue.
Stop talking to me about him, everyone I meet.
Please note Adam Weiss died on the way back to his home planet.

No matter where Drew Henson is, I take comfort in the fact that somewhere out there, David Terrell still has a bomb ass dick.
Space, bitches. Space.

10-6 win. Have to think Ohio regrets settling for field goals twice when drives stalled in the red zone.
Nice avatar dude.
We are going to be a machine.
Like Fred Jackson, but fast!
Yes, but how do the ladies feel about him?

I'm pretty upset the podcast completely ignored the sporting world of the Central Asian Steppe. Appeal to your demographics, Brian.
Shouldn't the NCAA playoffs have a clause that allows them to kick out Florida State or someone and put us in now? Just seems reasonable.
I was hoping for Todd Collins, but I guess Harbaugh is okay too.
Guess I need to finally give up hope on Todd Collins being named the next head coach.
Did you read the article you are commenting on?
Cespedes isn't a great fielder in left field, putt him in a huge center field like Comerica and he'll bleed runs.
Would the universe survive Peppers and Woodson in the same room?
Like Secretariat, but fast!
Do you think that when Bacari Alexander dunked on a guy he would shout "HA LOL" in their face?
The Porter/Kolarik/Pacioretty year right after Hensick graduated was still rather incisive.
