Happenings between now and September 4th
I don't know about you, but 22 days just seems like too damn long to me. Fortunately, there are a few events between now and then that can help break up the time and give us something to talk about. A few that come to mind:
August 14 - Michigan visits NCAA, receives free punch and pie.
August 15 - 2-a-days begin.
August 19 - BTN Campus Tour of Michigan televised, 8:00 p.m.
August 22 - Fan Day (h/t VideoTom)
August 28? - Beanie Bowl (estimated, based on last two years)
August 30 - Planned release of preliminary depth chart. It will not list a starting quarterback. Don't even hope.
September 2nd - Football-type substance: Southern Miss v. South Carolina, Indiana v. Towson, Minnesota v. Middle Tennessee, Marshall v. Ohio State, USC v. Hawaii (among others)
Anything else we can look forward to between now and UConn?

More people will show up if we tell them there is free punch and pie.

Lots to look forward to until 9/4. For example:
the Tigers are only 8 games back of two other teams;
Tiger is back. At least he was yesterday;
NFL pre-season games will show the talents of guys who will be cut on Tuesday
WNBA is on ESPN2 on some nights (check you local listings)
And, NASCAR has 2 guys vying for the final spot in the final group of The Cup before the final races of the year determine who has the most points

I think that the OP meant any other MICHIGAN-related stuff to look forward to. And does anyone really look forward to the WNBA or Nascar? Not hating, just saying.

Don't know if your a fan or not but the Lions start preseason on Saturday. They play the Steelers so you get to see Woodley.

"August 14 - Michigan visits NCAA, receives free punch and pie."
Dude, a warning next time. I was drinking coffee when I read this and almost spit it on my desk because I was laughing so hard. And let me tell you, Starbucks in NYS is not cheap.

M basketball in Europe is pretty exciting for me.

Right on. They depart for Amsterdam on August 20th.

...the schedule of the MBB EuroTour:
- Aug 22: Ghent
- Aug 23: Leuven
- Aug 25: Oostande
- Aug 26: Mons

You can't just do that. You gotta include some info. Where's the scouting reports? Is the sixth man any good? Is Oostande living up to their preseason hype? Can we make jokes with a Jamaican accent when the team is in Mons? (No Problem, Mons).

...adding something new. Not my shtick.

Any word on coverage of those games? Does the BTN send people to Belgium?
August 13th, 2010 at 12:22 PM ^
especially for a team that just lost its best 2 players and will probably be predicted to finish anywhere from 8th to 10th in the conference this year unfortunately.

A blessing on your house.
I'm sure the board has a few name suggestions for you, though if your wife can wait to deliver until that Saturday, you'll know whether you should go with "Tate Denard" or "Denard Tate"

I believe the BTN Michigan football preview is on August 20 @ 8pm eastern.
August 13th, 2010 at 11:14 AM ^
I've heard the 18th, the 19th, and the 20th.
The BTN site says the 19th (http://www.bigtennetwork.com/sports/football/2010-Big-Ten-Football-Tour.asp), but they might bump it to show IU's talent show or a performance by the Northwestern orchestra, so who knows.

I like that they aren't announcing a starting qb. UConn won't know what the hell to plan for.
August 13th, 2010 at 12:53 PM ^
yeah, but that also means they are probably developing a game plan for both QB's
August 13th, 2010 at 11:14 AM ^
I've gotta move to A2 at some point before the first game, so that will occupy some of my time.
August 13th, 2010 at 12:14 PM ^
greenwood block party is the 2nd for the still in school types/ people who don't mind waiting 20 mins to get a cup to fill with cheap shitty beer.

coming through...
August 13th, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
For me it will be spent watching pre-season games anxiously awaiting until September 4th when we run out on the field against UConn.

Just where the hell is Belgium? Isn't it near the Congo, I often hear them mentioned together.
