Happenings between now and September 4th

Submitted by BiSB on

I don't know about you, but 22 days just seems like too damn long to me.  Fortunately, there are a few events between now and then that can help break up the time and give us something to talk about.  A few that come to mind:

August 14 - Michigan visits NCAA, receives free punch and pie.

August 15 - 2-a-days begin.

August 19 - BTN Campus Tour of Michigan televised,  8:00 p.m.

August 22 - Fan Day (h/t VideoTom)

August 28? - Beanie Bowl (estimated, based on last two years)

August 30 - Planned release of preliminary depth chart.  It will not list a starting quarterback.  Don't even hope.

September 2nd - Football-type substance: Southern Miss v. South Carolina, Indiana v. Towson, Minnesota v. Middle Tennessee, Marshall v. Ohio State, USC v. Hawaii (among others)

Anything else we can look forward to between now and UConn?

Lots to look forward to until 9/4.  For example:

the Tigers are only 8 games back of two other teams;

Tiger is back.  At least he was yesterday;

NFL pre-season games will show the talents of guys who will be cut on Tuesday

WNBA is on ESPN2 on some nights (check you local listings)

And, NASCAR has 2 guys vying for the final spot in the final group of The Cup before the final races of the year determine who has the most points

"August 14 - Michigan visits NCAA, receives free punch and pie."

Dude, a warning next time.  I was drinking coffee when I read this and almost spit it on my desk because I was laughing so hard.  And let me tell you, Starbucks in NYS is not cheap.

You can't just do that. You gotta include some info. Where's the scouting reports? Is the sixth man any good? Is Oostande living up to their preseason hype? Can we make jokes with a Jamaican accent when the team is in Mons? (No Problem, Mons).

A blessing on your house.

 I'm sure the board has a few name suggestions for you, though if your wife can wait to deliver until that Saturday, you'll know whether you should go with "Tate Denard" or "Denard Tate"
