OT -- Tigers-Twins 07/10
Miggy just hit a 2 run bomb (that I saw fly out on gamecast) to put the Tigers up 2-0 after 1.
Is this game on fox nationally? I am stuck in Indianapolis so I don't have access to FSN Detroit
EDIT--also too lazy to go downstairs turn the TV on and check for myself, help me out
Yes. In the Detroit area it's Fox's Game of the Week. Rod Allen is doing the color commentary.
thanks man, did he say Cabrera was "country strong" after the HR?
I always love after the Catcher has his little meeting with the pitcher and then the batter blasts a homer, makes both look like idiots.
EDIT: Sorry late on the network
Chicago has the Cubs game on fox. I'm streaming the Tigers game online, so if you don't get it you can do that.
Not national, I'm in Nashville and I'm stuck watching the Braves and Mets on Fox. Indy might be Tigers/Twins though.
No, Rod's behaved himself. If he'd have turned loose a "OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!" or "I SEE YOU, BIG FELLA", I might have peed myself. He's gotta go nuts at least once on national TV, right?
Is it wrong to play the Rod Allen drinking game by myself?
absolutely not
if i wasn't studying I'd be playing with myself
that didnt sound right
FOX probably tells the home announcers to keep it as unbiased as possible. Not many of them listen but after watching today I think Rod behaved himself pretty well today.
Tigers up 3-2 through 2 1/2 innings.
magliiiiiiiioooooooooooo
just hit a solo shot
4-2 good guys
are both teams getting ready for the HR derby or something? 4 HR through 3 1/2 innings, this is ridiculous
... he seems to be talking more, but keeping the FSD-speak in check.
He was really on the mark in the intro, and Dick Stockton's wicked comb-over was resplendent. And I believe Dicky Boy is saying "Brendan" Boesch.
And he just welcomed everyone back to Comerica "Field."
Hell, he can probably see Ford Park from the press box.
Al Kaline on the broadcast now.
Delmon Young is not a good outfielder
... in response to a question from Rod, Al just said Miguel Cabrera is the best Tigers hitter he has ever seen.
Stockton doing a real good job interviewing Al. Stockton clearly knows his baseball, he seems quite comfortable with discussing Al's era of baseball
... Leyland was burning a heater when he went on this tirade; Michigan law be damned!
Johnny Damon, earning his keep. :~))
And Damon just went KA-BOOM on Blackburn. Pressure busts pipes. 7-3.
Rod Allen drew his famous "imaginary line" through Johnny Damon to illustrate his home-run power. He said it earlier, but didn't draw it, when Miggy's blast cleared the Twins bullpen.
so i finally decide to go downstairs and take a break when Jackson and Santiago get on 2nd and 3rd with Damon up. I turn on Fox and its the Cubs--Dodgers game, what a let down...
As a Red Sox fan, I don't get to see much of the Tigers. However, its pretty easy to see from the statistics that Cabrera is having an incredible, and possibly historic year. I'm curious as an outsider what Cabrera's reputation is among the fan base. A few of my friends at UM are Tigers fans, but they don't seem to be overly high on him.
Amongst Tigers fans he is thought of as our best player and easily one of the best young players in the league. Though alot of Tigers fans are pissed at him because of some off the field problems he had last season. I'm not one of those fans and I am delighted to have him on our team.
Just announced on the broadcast
Cabs deserves to start.
Also, Fox is pushing the All Star game almost as hard as ESPN pushed the World Cup.
Well, time to root for the Royals tonight.
for that idea... 5-0 Sox in 6th
Miguel Cabrera is a certified gangsta. Can we admit that despite some bad trades (Renteria) that the one for Cabrera was a mighty fine one. I'd do it 10 out of 10 times over.
Cabrera is my fav Tiger since Pudge. Maggs gets a lot of man luv from me too.
Miller and Maybin haven't been too stellar, and although Willis didn't work out we definitely got the better of the deal.
