While Izzo's best days as a tactician are most likely behind him, he still has a lot of cachet on the recruiting trail.  I'd take my chances on his replacement being worse.  It's extremely doubtful that the next coach will go to as many Final Fours as he has.

To be honest I hope Izzo stays. MSU is not very intimidating and hasn’t been for a long time. Beilein has a formula for beating him. Why have someone new come in and derail what we have going. As far as recruiting goes I’ve come to accept it much like MSU accepts it in football. We will never out recruit MSU in basketball over a 4 year stretch. Bringing in a new guy (with no morals) might be what MSU needs to land these top kids that go else where. Izzo is a loud mouth and completely overrated. Let’s keep it that way

Crazy collapse by Staee in the Big Ten baseball tournament. Leading 5-2 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th against Indiana and managed to lose 6-5 in 10 innings.

The Kings have been the worst over the past decade, but I’m not sure anyone can top the Magic for number 2 (although the Knicks and Nets can both be nominees, as can the Suns). That team had 5 top 10 picks in 5 seasons, and they’re right back where they were 5 seasons ago. Izzo can please go there so we can watch him fail badly in the NBA. That team and coach deserve each other.

you're tarnished at the collegiate level, so if some dumb owner wants to pay you a few million to dick around on the fringes of the lottery for a few years, I say, go for it.

I would agree with the way these comments are averaging out in that I don't care what happens. Positives and negatives either way, and they average out.

However, some paranoia from football years past makes me lean toward Izzo staying if I had to choose...

Izzo is always in the rumor mill. He says he’s taken too many bullets this year to leave, which means he’s suspect and should just leave already. Great paying job at the next level where he probably won’t be successful, but at least he’s taking care of the fam.
