Following notification of this change, the University of Mississippi promptly reached out to the University of Michigan to discuss how these new standards could impact the University of Mississippi's support of a transfer student-athlete's desire to compete immediately at the University of Michigan. The University of Mississippi and the University of Michigan have worked together over the last several days in conjunction with the NCAA national office staff, and with a focus on the best interest of the student-athlete, to put forward a new waiver application. That new application was submitted this week by the University of Michigan and supported by both schools. The University of Michigan has withdrawn its previous waiver application and all associated materials in favor of this new, cooperative approach based on facts which all parties agree to. The waiver has now been approved by the NCAA and thus football student-athlete Shea Patterson will be eligible to compete in the 2018-19 academic year.

Hopefully it also gives the whole team a little extra boost in the offseason. I bet the D will be energized to have at least 2 good QBs for fall camp to supplement their elite capability this fall.

In all or nothing I loved how don brown and company always preached about winning the game themselves and how they don’t need any help. It’s not really true but I liked the sentiment. Love that guy. Hopefully the offense can help out a little more this year.

Now its time to get to work (well after Paris). Everyone on this team needs to step it up because this could be one really special year. With our defense, if we can have a decent offense, we could re-establish this program as a top five one. Not to mention the strength of schedule. Sure its tough, but if we win, we will have a target on our backs going forward because..yeah, Michigan would be legitmately back.

What gives me confidence is the schedule seems hard now. There have been many times the schedules don’t play out the same way in actual games. Certain teams under perform and unknown ones will out perform. Then there is always the games you look back on and say I am glad we just exacsled that one to a lowly team. We win this year, we will get all the kudos. Give me kudos!!
