Not trying to be political given the times, but I noticed his education and a lot of his experience is international, which led to me wonder. Even if he pleads away jail time (which would be incredibly lenient given the description of events in the article), he could very well wind up with significant immigration issues.

Are you saying he wasn’t arrested, even tho your quote says he resisted arrest at the scene and resisted police at the station? Unless he successfully resisted police at the scene, and then went to the station after that on his own volition and not under arrest, I think he was, in fact, arrested.

Whatever the guy is saying, he is saying it from a position of no knowledge or experience.

Subjects of search warrants for blood often get combative.  They are subdued. Unless they do something particulously egregious physically, they are not ordinarily charged with assault or some kind of resisting offense.

This kind of incident usually signals a developing or an already full-blown problem with substance abuse/alchohol.  If so, the best thing he could do for himself would be to get into treatment and use what I sure feels very negative to him at present as something positive.

More than saving his job, it may save his life, or the life of an innocent bystander.

know that the university can at times delay or take no action on problematic employees. The university does try to help people with substance abuse issues before firing them. That is well known throughout university.

The Athletic Department has made this statement, which has been added to the MLive article: Ablauf clarified Connolly's job responsibilities on Wednesday: "He is employed by the athletic department but has not been working with football since we returned from the bowl game." This just doesn’t seem adequate to me. “Suspended with pay pending charges” seems like a bare minimum.
