Some of you people are the most hypocritical people I have ever come across. Bunch of smoke ass fair weather fans. Change your allegiance to staee or Rutgers. Speight would add valuable depth I would rather see Patterson or Peters but Speight will b acceptable.

Don't get me wrong, I would like Speight back, I think he gives us the best chance to win in 2018. Although he's not as talented as Patterson, I think we win more games this year with him than Shea. I know that's not popular here, but Peight knows our offense better than anyone and he's get a good arm and can be great.
But what about team chemistry? Spegiht left the team, didn't practice for the Bowl, didn't go with his team to the bowl, and he's missing Winter Conditioning right now. What message does it send if he's right back on the team in the Spring like nothing happened?

No, no he does not. He sailed every pass he threw (slight /s) last year or just badly missed his receivers. He knows the plays better than anyone else but would need to see a MASSIVE jump in accuracy to be our best plaer at the position.

But seriously, Patterson played in a single read offense last year. It's not the same offense at all, he will need a year to get up to speed on the offense. I think Patterson can be great, but you have to look inside his numbers at Ole Miss to get an accurate picture of him. He was great against bad teams and bad against great teams. HIs 1 god game against Auburn was a game where they were way down and Auburn basically went into prevent.
I think it's better than 50% that if Speight and Patterson are both here, Speightt beats him out due to knowledge of the offense and Patterson just not being ready for a pro style system yet. I meanlook at Peters, he's had 2 years in the system and they still couldn't open up the playbook with him. Our fans always like to look ahead to the next big thing, people are totally selling Speight short, he was darned near a Heisman candidate 3.4s of the way through 2016, when healthy he's a very good QB who should take a big step this coming season if he stays where he knows the offense.
I think what's best for Michigan Football is for Spegiht to start in 2018 and Patterson to start in 2019. We go 9-3 or 10-2 with Speight this Fall, we threraten the playoffs with Patterson in 2019.

I am surprised that ths information was made public. I suspected this when he recently said he will wait until June, but it is an embarassing thing to have revealed. WS has shown great maturity and class. I wish him well. I feel badly for this embarassing information being revealed (if true or even moreso if not true).
