that Mitch says "the NBA is complicated, the NBA is a business". Whether or not you agree with athletes smoking marijuana or not, if you can't do it because the league says you can't, then you just don't do it....yeah Mitch, the NBA IS a business. Though I wonder how marijuana is legislated in over-seas basketball leagues? Maybe he is better off playing over there....?

I'm pretty sure substance abuse is much less of a problem in Europe than it is here (and I say substance abuse because when it interferes with your relationships and or job, as it has for McGary, it's abuse). And I know in Italy at least marijuana is frowned upon much more universally than it is here. Not sure about other European countries. They might not even have league rules about it though because it's not as much of an issue.

Glad that he's still getting to play. Seems like he's really just never found his footing in the league.

I'm not basketball savvy enough to know why. I assume it's partially due to a lack of athleticism.

...he’d be better served paired with a versatile backcourt partner that would allow him to shift to more of a combo guard role, kind of like a Willie Green. That said, he doesn’t stand out in any one area that he can lean on to make up for his shortcomings. Regarding McGary—THAT is mind-boggling. He doesn’t seem to want to play. Look at the 2nd and 3rd chances other guys get. He has enough game to stay in the league; it doesn’t seem important to him. Stauskas has been stuck on bad teams and is very streaky. He has some highlight-reel plays, but when he’s off, he’s 2 for 11 off. GR3’s stock is rising. Will be a quality role-player/fringe starter.
