Harbaugh Instruction Manual- Offense v Defense
Written and posted back in 2015, this quote is very relevant:
▪ Your Harbaugh has been designed for offense and will require many high-end parts to run said offense. Yet his defense will be better than his offense. This paradox has not been explained.
I think this is very true which is why we were able to create a dominant defense right away but the offense is taking longer.
Here is the whole article for anyone who missed it the first time:

MSU was also starting walkons on their DL. But I guess it's not fair to ask when the OL which is 115th in TFL allowed and 118th in sacks allowed is going to get better.

Weird because on defense Gary, Bush, Hudson, Hill, Long, and Metellus are all true sophomores and all are thriving. I was also told Onwenu and Bredeson who were both near 5 star recruits would be upgrades over Kalis and Braden. Seems like a fair question to ask given the utter shit show the OL has been, so no I will not give it up.

You're one of the smartest curmudgeons on the board, and the questions aren't unfair. I think the answer is that OL is both the hardest position group to predict and the slowest to develop.
Not that he's a typical example, but Graham Glasgow walked on and became an NFL starting lineman. My point being that stars notoriously mean less on OL than any other position.
It's fair to be frustrated by the OL performance so far. It's the obvious soft spot on this team, and it's going to be for a while yet.

Later. They'll be good later after they mature. It will also help to get Ruiz in place at center.
But the answer is "later".

Next year is the year. Phew, glad that got cleared up

Always next year. That is more frustrating than actually losing. The argument that we can't put in talented QBs who are raw but with upside because our line needs more time. I hope you're right about this and the line gets where they need to be with a little more time. I think you're right on the being hard to predict and slow to develop as a unit.

Mason Cole is an NFL draft pick and Onwenu, Bredeson, and Ulizio are all Harbaugh recruits so I'm not sure I'm understanding the point you are trying to make.

So you're saying that our offense sucks, AND we were outcoached

To be objective, a 3-9 team visited the #7 team in the country with the #1 defense and showed them how to win a ball game.

Toughness goes a long way. We arent tough. Sparty is tough. There in was the difference. The program has been soft for a long time. We were out toughed against Iowa, Osu, florida state and now MSU. X's and O's go out the window and each of this games one team wanted it more. Lewerke wanted the 1st down more.

MSU was 3-1 entering the game. They aren't elite, but they're clearly better than last year's team.

So why aren't we able to do the same thing since their defense isn't as good as ours?
