I'm very surprised that in such a short time a strong relationship was built between this kid and the Michigan coaches. This is another 2018 head scratcher.

doesn't have great speed, but is great at moving around in the pocket, and isn't afraid to run. Is a very well built guy. Good physical project, appears to be a good decision maker. The one thing that really concerns me is his arm motion. He whips it like a baseball player, and doesn't have a fluid throwing motion like a lot of quarterbacks. This prevents him from getting good zip on the ball and means it tends to float a bit more. It works in HS ball, but the windows are much smaller at the next level. I like him as a second QB, he has good accuracy. I saw the WaPo article about him, and the comments surrounding him, but I don't personally know the kid, so it's whatever.

then again, I have to keep reminding myself these show only the good plays. But Kevin does seem to have good pocket awareness, and I like the fact that he can vary the speed and arc of the ball to suit the play and developing coverages. Not every pass is a 95 mph fastball nor a lobbed jump ball. I should text JH and let him know I approve. (Yeah, he'll be impressed.)

Fwiw, one of my colleagues played football at Florida and follows DC are high school football closely. This morning I asked him about QBs in the area and unaware that Doyle had committed, he immediately talked about Doyle and said, "He's really good."

To the people questioning this pickup: you're trusting Scout writers over Harbaugh to assign a star rating to a QB. Why? Explain your thought process to me.
