Passing Attack through 2 games.

It's very easy to beat on Wilton at the moment. Not going to do that but let's look at the stats. 51% completion rate with 400 yards 3 TDs 2 picks and a fumble thus far. Suprising regression from a Senior but does this have more of a tie to Pep Hamilton than we are accrediting? Wilton faded in the last 3 games last year but was pretty solid up until that point. I'm a little surprised that with the ground success seen thus far, the emphasis on passing has been so direct. This game Saturday will be a good chance to see which direction the offense is going. This is key because Penn state....Wisconsin and Ohio state are all beatable this year and Michigan likley has a Playoff defense. We just need to get to the root of the problem with this passing attack. Heaping it all on Wilton isn't neccessarily fair. After watching Baker light up the shoe it is a tad frustrating to not have a playmaker in that mold...or to not be playing one of we do have him. I think there is still some time to get this fixed but all involved in the passing game to include backs/receivers/coaches need to own up and get this right. This is a Playoff year for Michigan if the passing attack gets fixed.

that Speight had offseason surgery?  Or, is this just a rumor?

I thought I remember him being asked at some point and refusing ti answer it.

passing game is not right now good enough to go to the big stage. i think it is timing that has messed it up. if it does not improve i am sure changes will be made. jh know qb's  so let him do the calling. remember this team is young and learning.

expectations where the team is required to win 10+ or it's a sign of the apocalypse, the QB is required to hit 70 percent of this throws or he needs to be benched, and we aren't happy with 20+ point wins because mistakes were made by young guys and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

That brief period in which actually beating worse teams brought us joy was rather refreshing.

Are you content beating the buckeyes only twice in I believe the last 16 years? I'm not. To have high goals you must have high standards. Michigan's QB is required to play well enough to beat the buckeyes every year. That is the standard. Beating inferior teams in ugly fashion is Hoke level stuff and does not instill confidence the quality of play is meeting that standard. It's blatantly obvious our current passing attack will earn us another L late November unless massive improvement occurs.

Speight has been a little off!! can't blame him entirely but it's people running around wide open (DPJ). I also agree with us getting the backs the ball in space, but we don't seem to do that either idk???

The stats dont really show just how bad he has been

The killers so far have been the wide open WR which if the ball had been thrown in their vicinity wouldve been touchdowns. Ive seen DPJ robbed of good yardage gains because of Wiltons bad throws which sucks for a freshman WR who is just trying to make some catches to get things going.

His incompletions have been BAD BAD BAD incompletions.

It hasnt been an issue within the team yet but if Michigan were to start losing and Wilton was playing like this then I could see it causing bigger issues with team chemistry
