Michigan up to 7th in both Coaches Poll and AP Poll

Clemson is 2nd over Oklahoma by exactly one point. Also of interest is Penn State falling to 5th, Ohio State falling to 9th, and Wisconsin falling to 12th. Based on the "Others Receiving Votes" Maryland is 31st, one spot ahead of Notre Dame.

The AP has Oklahoma solidly in 2nd over Clemson. Penn State is 5th, while Ohio State only fell to 8th, and Wisconsin only fell to 10th.

I didn't like the lack of focus Michigan had after taking a quick 14-0 lead. I can understand how this happened after coaching hockey for 10 years. After a very emotional high stakes game, our team lost focus after going up early. This is probably the biggest challenge a coach has, keeping the team focused to play there best after a significant win. A let down happens quite often, you try to rally the team, but some days a win is the best you can hope for. If the same mistakes carry into the next couple of weeks, there is reason for concern. We need to see progress week to week and can't freak out when it is not 50-0 every week. I for one am looking forward to mid October through December.

One game at a time. I trust Brown will have the boys ready for Air Force's triple option. Hopefully Speight will come out and show some improvement on the other side. Although if he hasn't figured it out by now...

I know there are countdown clocks on how many days it's been since we have won The Game. Anyone know how long it has been since we ranked higher than them? Does it go all the way back to the Luke Fickell year?

I am happy with 7 but honestly I am just waiting for October 21st.... I will be there.. still looking for a tailgate to join out in happy valley.. any suggestions or people going out let me know! I would love to hook up, we got 4 flying in from Chicago and GR

We're ranked. It's early in the season. Anything can happen. Including a national championship. Believe in your team. Or do you watch just to bitch at the screen/field? We can do it.

There's a playoff, that's invite only, and it seems to me rankings don't matter anymore for the invitating.  Hell, winning your conference doesn't even matter any more.

I used to track rankings each week because of how important it was for end of season positioning - for bowl games in the old days and then the BS, er, BCS.  Now, it's just nice information that writers and coaches get wrong because they're not fully informed.
