we took our 1 yr old to the cincinnati game and it was awesome

you might remember the thread where i asked if we should take our 1 yr old to the cincinnati game. most people said we were some combination of insane, selfish, and maybe trolls. we were in section 21, row 39. you might have noticed us, but probably didn't because she literally didn't fuss once. slept through the first hour, was happy in her carrier the rest of the game. a guy behind us said: that is the best behaved baby i've ever seen, and i'm about 110 years old. my point is that it can be done. don't let the naysayers convince you it'll be a hellscape. go blue!

I guess my response is similar to buddy that took his dog to a Mudhens game on take your pet day.   I was cool for the owners to have their dog at the game, but the dog had absolutely no clue why he was there.   Same thing with your 1yr old.

Babies should not be taken to football games, but that's just me. Taking a baby is just the parents' way of showing off their kid. Sorry.

Sometimes you just want to go to a game and you have no one to watch your kid so you have to take him/her. If you section is so quiet that a whining baby irritates you... well then I guess that's a reflection on how lame your section is

I would not have done it, because if one our kids made a fuss in public we'd remove them immediately so others wouldn't be disturbed. That's a pressure cooker situation. But so long as you're not one of the dipshit parents who keep their shrieking tot in the fray (and it sounds like you're not), then good for you.

As a parent of 3 kids under the age of 5 all I'll say is only you understand what your kid can handle, but be considerate of those around you. If there's a good chance they flame out after 1 hour, don't do it.

Yeah, as I said in the other thread, we take our 1-year-old to games - and he is walking. We also take our other kids (3 and 7) and we've never had any problems. Just fun. I would never have guessed this was a controversial topic without the earlier thread.
