Exit: Keith Washington Comment Count

Per Sam Webb, Keith Washington has given word that he intends to depart from Ann Arbor.

A 3-star recruit out of Prattville and one of Harbaugh's first recruits, Washington redshirted in 2015 and appeared in nine games last year. He was reportedly in the mix for the second corner spot, and Mike Zordich mentioned earlier today that we may see him in different roles as well. Apparently, this is not so.

The starting corners will now likely come from the group of Lavert Hill, David Long, Brandon Watson, and Ambry Thomas. Drake Harris and Benjamin St-Juste are also extant, as is Jaylen Kelly-Powell.

If he were good enough / wanted it enough, transferring wouldn’t have been in the picture at all. No one is getting handed a starting position sans the elite few — “Those who stay...”

You may be correct, he may not have been good enough to earn meaningful playing time at Michigan. Remember that this is just a game and most of these guys will never play a single play in the NFL. So what is wrong with a student athlete transferring to another school to get playing time? I am sure all of these kids 'want it', but sometimes the guy next to you is better. You work just as hard in the weight room and in the offseason but the talent may not be enough to play at a big time program. If that is/was the case, I wish'em well and hope they find success elsewhere.

Great guy, would have been awesome for KW to make the 2-deep team. Wants to move on for PT (?), so will be interesting to see where he lands.
