There's something more appealing about a small mom and pop shop. Progress? I prefer the old days of unique small stores and not chain stores sprouting up everywhere. Now get off my lawn.

Completely agree.

It's akin to going to Baltimore and instead of eating at some unique oyster ball in Fells Point, you decide to go to Red Lobster.  Red Lobster is undisputedly larger and generates more revenue, but better it is not.

Ha!  WD cannot even live up to his own manifesto... of posting softball only.  I guess the blong hasn't gone up in smoke without him.

There is nothing good about losing Moe's to MDen.  nothing.

That WD takes glee in this is a demonstration that he may write a bunch about the history and unique aspects of Michigan, but he doesn't understand it.

First Drake's Sandwich Shop and now Moe's --- at least in its original, honest-to-goodness sports shop form. North U will never be the same.

This sucks.  Moe's had a history all its own.  That is now gone.

You are all crazy if you think that Moe's will continue to exist in anything close to its current form.  I expect it will turn into some kind of special "throwback" department of MDen where the corporate powers that be will "honor" Moe's history by selling "vintage inspired throwback" items for inflated prices.  Then, MDen will cry crocodile tears when it "has" to close it because WD is the only one who will buy this kind of fake throwback nonsense.

In another year, the store will be empty or a Verizon outlet.  Another competitor will be out of the market and people will wonder why Nike stuff now costs $20 more.
