MASCOT ALERT!!!! Wolverine mascot-guy spotted. (No joke)
Not kidding here. I'm facebook friends with an athletic department employee who is down with the Cheerleading team in Daytona Beach at the National Cheer and Dance Championships (at which they were going for our fifth National Championship in a row but finished in 3rd). Was just watching the post with their routine and there absolutely positively a guy in a "wolverine" costume and a #17 Michigan jersey doing the routines with our cheer team during the competition. Checked their twitter account and it wasn't the same post or routine. In the one I saw on Facebook they appeared to be outside in a band shell looking thing. Will try to get a screen shot and post but its definitely there. Is this the furry face of things to come?

That's not Willy, is it? In any case, whatever that is is about to be blindsided by Sparty (and that's OK by me).
If they have to use a mascot just for this competition, it should be something like Deflated Brutus or Flaccid Sparty. We could get on board with this in a big way if they just used a rotating series of mascots designed solely to tweak our opponents.
For a moment I had flashbacks to the uproar supporting Willy the Wolverine during my time on campus. May those people forever be shamed.
