I think when Harbaugh looks at this kid he sees, like everyone else, that he's a little slower and a little smaller than what D-1 programs are looking for, but he also sees something else that he probably holds in higher regard than some of his peers: the kid is a football player. I also wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a contributor.

Owen Marecic was a linebacker/fullback that played under Harbaugh.  Expecting that level of production from a walk on is unlikely, but we've seen what guys like Kovacs and Glasgows could do when given the opportunity.

PWO.  Over 150 tackles his senior season.  Small for D-1 (6'0", 209 lbs) prob made him consider his options.  But if he has the heart and puts on some beef - this kid will play someday.

He probably wasn't recruited because of finishing dead last in that competition.

Quick question: do these recruited walk-ons get through "money sport" academic qualifying or "everyone else" qualifying? They aren't actually on the team...
