BIG CHAMP game attendance

Submitted by moetown91 on

Has anyone noticed the number of tickets available on StubHub for the game on Saturday.....almost 10,000 available and prices as low as $12 per ticket.  I think it's kinda sweet justice for us that it wont be a packed house.  I was able to dump 2 and having a hard time selling the other two.

Yeah...pretty much pull for a 6-4 final...won't matter at that point...I'd say PSU winning in a laugher doesn't necessarily hurt UM either though since the H2H was more lobsoded for UM over PSU even if you remove the missed fgs against WISC...the committee sounded like they really want to put UM in, as the discussion revolved around Wash/UM, not the B1G Champ contenders, both of whom UM beat easily.

All that being said, since losses by Wash or Clemson would help UM instead of OSU, neither will happen and UM and the B1G Champion will be left out.

I don't know if this is a great spot to post this, but I don't think I can start my own post yet.

I was talking with someone today at work about the Big Ten Championship game. The person I was talking to is a big Wisconsin fan. We were both complaining about the divisions in the Big Ten. He's worried that if Wisconsin wins, they won't make the playoff due in part to the weaker schedule by being in the weaker division. That got me wondering, does anyone think that down the road the Big Ten will do away with the divisions and still keep the championship game? My thinking is that they could keep the championship game and the two teams that go to the championship will be the two teams that are ranked the highest in the CFP poll after the last week of the season. Thoughts?

Not the worst idea, but it sets up the rematch (which the B1G tried once already), and in most years I just don't think most cfb fans really want to see that, or that UM or OSU fans want to devalue The Game that way. I'm personally okay with the division and championship game model, but I feel like UM and MSU should be in separate divisions with a protected crossover. Let UM and MSU open the B1G season against each other and if they both need up winning their divisions, the rematch will be more palatable than playing the same team two weeks in a row.

The ACC does something similar with FSU and Miami.  They keep that rivalry game in October so the losing team has a chance to get back in the race.  It's too bad that Miami's been awful to take advantage of that.

IMO, if we played at OSU in October and lost under the same circumstances, I think we roll everyone else, including Iowa, to prove a point to the committee.

I live in Indy and have been keeping an eye on tickets since the summer. Even as of last weekend the cheapest seat in the place was $120 when the potential of Michigan or Ohio State playing was still in play...

Now it's a glorified high school game!

I'm heading to Pac-12 title game tomorrow (I live 2 miles from the stadium) and StubHub is significantly tighter than that. Still paid about half face value, though.

I bought two tickets on stubhub for $320 5 weeks ago when I was confidence Michigan was going.

Sold them on Sunday night for a combined $160 so I took a $160 loss.

The tickets for my section are now being sold for $17 so I'm lucky that I got what I did for them.

I guess Penn State and Wisky fans aren't willing to make the trip which I'm surprised by.

I have a feeling tickets would be around $200 a piece if Michigan, Ohio State, or Nebraska was in it.

They need to move the game to Chicago, work it out with the Bears and NFL so they are always on the road that week.

Indianapolis is a terrible college football town.

I don't see any $12 tickets now but it's $19 to sit up top at the 40 on the Wisconsin sideline.

I'm seriously considering it. It's that, or $6 to watch a terrible high school basketball game.
