With Simone Houma last year and Khalid Hill this year, the fullback has become the coolest position in football. The whole concept of large fast guys who can block, catch and run is awesome. Add in that the TEs like Asiasi are almost interchangable albeit 3-4" taller, and you have a crew of killers out there. Long live MANBALL!

I am not the most football savvy person in terms of nitty gritty X/O stuff but since many on on the board are... I was wondering has Hill received carries of the variety that Bobby Henderson gets late in games (FB trap)? To me, it seems like he has mostly had short yardage FB dives. I wonder if that is something we are stashing away for OSU.

FB and LB are the two positions I think of when I picture your quintessential football player. Tough yet athletic, wears huge shoulder pads plus a neck roll, always looking for contact at full speed.

I should dig up an old high school football pic from the 80s, I played center, had the neckroll and the cool ass forearm pads. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane

Harbaugh should be able to get whatever FB/LB/TE hybrid he wants back there every single year. In what system would you rather play fullback in? It's not even close

I hope he can change the overall perception of the FB position. I think one of the bigger issues is that most HS kids think of FB as a middling or less important position. Tend to be adament that they want to play at LB/HB at the next level. But you're going to get a lot of exposure and touches as a Harbaugh FB moving forward and I do hope that inspires some kids to embrace the position.

ESPN had a segment where they showed some Ole Miss guy trying to tackle Leonard Fourtnette and they did the F = M * A calculation to show that the DB who got trucked would have had to have been 12,000 pounds in order to stop Fourtunette. Using the same logic it seems that the FB/TE/LB is the most lethal guy out there on the run.
260 pound TE/LB/FB * [1.5] = 390 Force
300 pound lineman * [1.2] = 360 Force
200 pound RB/DB/WR * [1.7] = 340 Force
My acceleration numbers are BS. Can someone who's taken physics in the last 30 years figure out how to convert an average positional 40 yard dash time into acceleration?
