Peppers is playing at a whole 'nother level right now.  Gary I thought had his best game as a Wolverine.  Credit to Liufau, that kid made some great throws.  Running game was better.  Hopefully just a REALLY off day for Speight.  Pass coverage needs to improve, though having Lewis would help.  All in all, could've been a lot worse.

Someone else said it already but when Lewis comes back, is it not such a bad idea to have Stribs, Clark and Lewis on the field at the same time against these spread teams? I mean, Clark did use to play safety and he can cover the outside we've seen already. I think in the passing situations and they have three or four wide receiver sets, Hill has to come out. I'd keep Dymonte on though and lock Lewis on the good slot man if the opponent has one.

Glad they had a chance to respond to early adversity before Big Ten play begins. Hope this was just a super off day and a wake up call for Speight.

Peppers was the man today.

We need to improve kicking game. Hope it is not going to hurt us.

Happy to see us win a game like this. A lot of confidence in our coach and in our team to learn and do well. GRIT

Liufau played a great game. But we really adjusted well by Q2. Closed down the screen game and finally got pressure. Not sure he could've led them back but it would have been more of a nail biter for sure

Yes he did. He is a good QB. But, we did contain him in Q2. They scored after half time. They probably adjusted. With the way Q2 went, we probably would have adjusted also. Would have been a nail biter, but there was enough evidence in Q2 that the Defense was definitely playing better.

Defense needs to get better for spread offense/running QBs because i can think of three teams that have running QBs and they are on our schedule (psu, msu and osu). They needs to study and practice hard

Really interested in how things change when Lewis returns. Have to think that Clark is getting most the snaps on the other side but what does our nickel look like?

Do they keep Thomas/Hill and Peppers? Play 1 true LB with Clark/Strib/Lewis and Peppers of? Maybe pull either Thomas or Hill move Peppers to a true safety with Clark/Strib/Lewis and Gedeon/McCray at LB?

It doesn't look like we can leave Thomas or Hill matche up in the slot. Looked really bad today. I don't want to see too much of that the rest of the season.

Our O line is playing like some experts here said the unit would play this season. Damn it you-know-whos. The O line penalty was the sort a tired player makes. O line looked spent at positions sometimes. In Drevno we trust.

Speight was very disappointing. Kind of toning down my expectations for the season. Allen must be hurt or something too? Couldn't have played much worse. The D showed a lot of weaknesses that 1st quarter that it seems like an OSU would exploit all game long. We really need Lewis back.
