I thought all the 'corporate issue', everybody-wears-the-same-styles stuff was supposed to stop with Nike. Blech.

Sounds like a personal problem.

...will disappoint us.
Probably will be better than Adidas, but the problem is that all apparel co. marketing strategies these days are basically the same. They aim to advance the apparel company brand by using the same design templates for all schools using their brand. This waters down any individuality that a university might be able to project.
As a result, the Michigan shorts will be the same template as the MSU and OSU shorts, just with different colors, for example. They do the same thing with the football uniforms. Last year, for example, all Nike schools had that weird graphic around the collar of football uniforms. And alternative/special release Nike or Adidas b-ball uinforms for dufferent schools during the tournament all had the same styling cues, with only school colors differing
Nike, Adidas, Under Armor are trying to make their branding dominate over the branding of their affiliated schools. So it ends up NOT being 'Michigan uniforms supplied by Nike.' Instead it ends up being "Nike apparel with Michigan as one of multiple university platforms for projecting consistent Nike designs and branding.'
Agree on your points, except we have Jumpman. So, we should be getting more variation and different styling.
and this is one reason that Nike will be better than Adidas.
But at the end of the day the business model will still impose itself and, therefore, we will get a LOT of bland designs that are shared across all Nike schools.

You have to renew or join to get an Alumni t shirt.
What if you already have a lifetime membership?
Clearly, you write them a piece on how you plan to renew your life or, if you are in fact joining for the first time, plan to join the ranks of the living. Very philosophical indeed, although you could probably have a lot of fun with it. This sort of behavior is why I am no long a staple at the downriver alumni meetings, mind you, but that's how I would approach it.
not as embarrassing as the last shorts leak I had, but in my defense, it seemed like gas at the time.
Its going to be awkward when people realize all the nike gear is ugly as shit too.
Nike does some stuff that deviates from traditionalism, for sure. But their stuff tends to be well-designed. It's not like "let's just slap a grass skirt or a cumberbund or a fruit stripe gum pattern on everybody."
The obsession with apparel continues to be very weird to me
The alumni site is no longer showing the shirt and you can no longer select shirt sizes when you go to renew or get a new membership. Seems they are already out of them. I was just about to sign up too, $25 is agreat deal.
