M BBall Game Thread vs. N'Western

Important game for the guys, a much needed win, let's hope they show up ready.

LeVert again won't play, sadly.

I've never seen a team dribble to directly under the basket then run in circles or pivot in circles so much. Probably some of the worst offense I've seen.

of sagging off to help in the lane and give up wide open three point shots. On the other end, we get only hurried three point shot attmepts with someone in our face.

Still looking for all those apologists who kept using us "making the tourney" as their main argument to this not being a failure of a season.  Not only is that a horrible benchmark for a program of our stature it may not even be the case.

All I'm saying is that if you told me Michigan would have 20 wins (assuming we pull this one out) at this point in the season, without levert playing in conference, I would have probably been ok with that. Yes we got blown out a few times, but still I think the way people behave in these threads is embarrassing. Calling 20 year old kids garbage, lazy, quitters, etc. Thats not acceptable IMO. Wouldn't be acceptable if we were 9-19 and certainly seems ludicrous since we're 19-9.

I'm not saying Msu is not a better team. My point is that without Valentine they probably have a few more losses. If we had levert we probably have a few less. And we're already a 19 win team! So imagine levert doesn't get hurt and we have 21 or 22 wins right now. Can you really be that upset at this team? That seems pretty solid to me. I just think people on this blog are so over dramatic when it comes to this team. Some of the comments in this thread blow my mind.

He played in 4 of their 5 losses.  Only missed the first Iowa game, so State did just fine without him.  They have also been missing their starting PG for most of Big Ten play.  They beat this NW team by 30.  Every game they won that he played in has been by double digits except Maryland which was a 9 point game.  I very much doubt they would have 4-5 more losses, I think they would likely be right where they are.

We can keep acting like we are only in this situation because Caris is hurt but thats simply not true.  We were destroyed by Xavier, UConn and SMU with Caris.

This program should be in a much better place than this 9 years into John Beilein's tenure as coach.

Not able to watch. Just checked score. Lots of time left, thankfully, but can that really be the score that far into second and only 60-some points combined? Yikes. Must be some bad basketball I'm missing!

on defense. Twice, the defense switched men and he didn't. We ended up with two guys guarding the same man. Somewhere, a NW player was wide open. How can he not get this basic principal of switching at this point in his career? I am assuming that he was supposed to switch.
