ND had a better resume and that Bama team was better than this Bama team. Not only was their defense great, but their offense was incredible They probably had one of the best O-lines in the history of college football. Every O-lineman on that team is currently on an NFL team and two of them are starters. They were better at QB (McCarron>Coker). They had Eddy Lacy, TJ Yeldon, Amari Cooper, and Kevin Norwood at the skill positions.

What if sports 3 sims...2015 MSU v. 2012 Bama at a neutral site...

#1= Bama 30-6

#2=Bama 47-0

#3= Bama 64-3

You get the picture...

This MSU team is one of the luckiest teams to have ever played the game. It caught up with them tonight.

From a talent perspective I can agree with you as I think ND defense 2012 is better than MSU this year.

However, from an over rated standpoint I think ND wins here.

ND won 5! of their regular season games by 7 points or less. Including OT wins over a 6-7 PITT team and a good 12-2 Stanford team. ND also got 5! gifted interceptions against us to win by a whopping single TD. ND at least went undefeated but was lucky as shit.

From an over rated standpoint, at least MSU lost to Nebraska so they showed chinks in their armor. MSU interestingly enough won 6 of their regular season (including BTC) games by 7 or less points.

MSU had to play an extra game in the conference championship, which ND didn't have to.

I hate both teams, and they were both highly over rated. My opinion is with ND as the worst offender.

Mark Dantonio actually gave a pretty classy interview to BTN.  However when they asked what's next for the program he was speechless and exasperated.  He had the look on his face like this is the pinnacle.  He knows they are not going to win it all.  Props to him for doing what he did.  He took Michigan's succession plan and capitalized.  Now it's our turn to get better.  The future is bright.

ND was probably more over rated.

At least MSU was #3 and had to try to win their way into the NC via a playoff.

ND was a "clear" top 2 team looking at the record alone. They got embarassed on a slightly larger stage as well.

MSU played a night game during NYE. I'd bet money the ratings were way higher for ND.

I kind of mixed perception and viewership into the over ratedness, but still think ND 2012 takes the cake.

At least MSU kept themselves out of the NC game.  They got exposed on a lesser stage.

ND stuck their head all the way in the lions mouth.

The refs handed Notre Dame the Stanford and Pitt wins in 2012. I think that qualifies them as more overrated. It was a forgone conclusion that game would be a bloodbath before it was even played.

I think most people expected State to lose but stay within three touchdowns at least.

I give the nod to ND.

Was sparty overrated?

They dropped steadily in the polls all season as they eeked out victories against weak teams.  They stayed in the top 10 cuz they started in the top 10 and they kept winning.  Than they won the big ten fair and square.  They were not favored in any big games.  I may be remembering wrong, but weren't they at least a 10 point dog in the OSU game, and underdogs against us?  As satifsying as it was to see them dismantled, this team was not overrated, they beat us, they beat Iowa, they beat OSU, and in potential matchups against Notre Dame, Florida State, UNC, and Stanford, they win or are competitive.

They were easily the luckiest team in the B1G. Maaaaybe the the third best team in the conference. You look at the sec over the past four years and they've been incredibly overrated. The sec beat the brakes off of a a 9-3 B1G team tonight

That ND team won at Oklahoma, and at USC. 2 more impressive wins than I think we've had in 10 years. Plus they went undefeated. I don't care who you play or how you won, going undefeated is hard. They simply played a team who was better than they were, it doesn't mean they were a shitty football team.

Brian Kelly is an asshole, but he was 4 points away from possibly going undefeated again. Also the first 3 rounds of the draft will be littered with ND players this year. I would have killed for that around here the last 7 years. He's having a level of success that I didn't think was possible at ND anymore.

He also had 4 one possession wins and they 3 of those wins were against non bowl teams.  The other was Temple.  They were not close to going undefeated.  They were much more likely to be a 3 loss team.  ND best power 5 win was over 5 loss Pitt.  There only other power 5 win over a team that finished over 500 was 6 loss USC.

I see 2 losses on their record. One by a game winning field goal, and one with a failed 2 pt conversion. I can't stand nonsense arguments like yours. It's like saying the Bulls only won 6 titles because of Michael Jordan. Ok? That doesn't take any of their wins away, and doesn't change that they had Jordan does it?

the fact that msu had the lead for 0 minutes in their 'victories' vs Michigan and osu, and then they get throttled in the playoff game they earned... I think it's fair to say this team was severely overrated. Had luck not been their best player, they would be in the Citrus Bowl.

MSU. ND had some good wins on the road. They had a couple of lucky wins and so did MSU. MSU lost to Nebraska. Dantonio sold so many souls against OSU and MSU. Even in the B1G championship game, they needed the last drive to win it. They almost lost to Indiana, Oregon, UM and I am forgetting another team that was not good. They had the luckiest play ever against us. Alabama is just a better team. If you take that away, ND was a better team than MSU. Well, this is not happening again. UM and OSU will take care of that going forward. We will not have this topic for another 10 years. Go Blue!

Hey guys,

Wife and I are in Boston for the New Year, and we were thinking of heading out to McGreevys. How early should we get there to get a table?

Thanks! Go Blue!
