OT: Lions Moving to WJR; Apparently Upset That 97.1 Criticizes Them So Much

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

The Lions are leaving 97.1 next season for WJR. The people at CBS Radio (97.1) are saying it's because the Lions are upset that the talkers on 97.1 criticize them so much. So it would seem the Lions hate Mike Valenti as much as we do.

Like that saying "it can be more than one thing", it is possible that Mike Valenti is biased against the UM AND also right about the Lions. Being right/capable/skilled in one aspect in life does not always translate to all other aspects. With all of the opinions pro talking heads spew out they are bound to be right on some.

The changes in the Lions are motivated by money - because frankly the Ford family now face the reality that the football team is actually one of the few big assets they control. Where it was once a fun thing a bunch of rich guys did for fun has morphed into a serious business with serious money.

and support it 100%. For those that disagree: If you owned the Lions, would you take less money than WJR and give the rights to a station that features Mike fucking Valenti? I sure as hell wouldn't.  Fuck him. I'm so glad I don't live close enough to Detroit that I either A) come across him on the airwaves or B) come in contact with people that do listen to him and go around spewing his trolling BS.

Just adding my two cents.  I hated Valenti when I was younger, while going to college.  I've come to realize a few years ago it's because I didn’t like hearing the truth.  I mean sometimes Valenti has his days but most of the time he states the truth whether you like to hear it or not. People saying he rags on Michigan, well they’ve pretty much been a dumpster fire for a decade, so there’s that. I'm not a fan of Censorship, which is why the Lions are leaving. Same reason why certain people have been getting fired from ESPN.  Everything isn't made of gum drops and lollipops.

The whole Lions thing makes the Lions organization seem like crybabies.  So they don't say nice things about you?  Could dry winning?  Huh. The president hire is the same shit. Hire internally, and the new President of the Lions even said today he wouldn't qualify for any other NFL team president out there.  That's reassuring.
