Didn't Trey get an MIP right before the 2012-13 season started and he missed the first exhibition game?

This is no big deal at all. If he wasn't driving, this isn't an issue. He broke the law in like a "going 10 over in a residential" kind of way.

If he got arrested for an MIP, the cop should be suspended (and, at the risk of crossing the line, 0 mgopoints to anyone who can identify the salient difference between Deveon and most other MIP recipients in A2)

As for Deveon: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It's the offseason; 90% of 20 year olds do it.

Also I would suggest changing the thread title. As is, it looks like something . . . important.

This staff needs to stop tweeting, and start cracking skulls. 5 months away from a brutal first month...they can't afford any more mistakes.
I am having a tough time finding more than 7.5 wins at this stage with such an unproven team. There is obviously going to be injuries, but IMO if UM loses a key starter here and there...especially to a fucking "rules violation", they could be in serious trouble.

I doubt he was arrested for an MIP. He probably just got a ticket and a date to show up in court. He will probably do the deferment program and do community service for a few months and it will be off his record.
Michigan is one of the only states to make this a misdemeanor and honestly needs to be a simple fine (similar to a driving ticket) like Florida has.

is a violation of team rules. Perhaps drinking when one is of age during spring or fall camp or during the season is also a violation.

In any event, if he violated team rules then he'll be appropriately punished by Harbaugh for that breach. That's as it should be. In essence, assuming this is true, he's being punished for being stupid.

I drank when I was under age in college. I drank in the dorm or in my residence. I didn't drive or wander around outside. I was careful NOT to put myself in the position to get arrested. Now the drinking age changed to 18 while I was in school so I was able to drink legally rather early during my time in college. That said I didn't drive over the limit (.1 in those days). Mostly If I was drinking in public I was walking home not driving.

My opinion is that this would not be a big deal were he not on the football team. But of course he is on the team, and that sets additional boundaries. Hopefully this gets addressed and he works off his punishment before fall camp starts. That is up to Harbaugh

I have similar sentiments about Glasgow. He didn't drive but was foolish enough to party while on probation. No one was harmed nor endangered. He deserves his suspension, but I hope he can work off whatever punishment is required to convince Harbaugh to reinstate him for fall camp.

I think this might actually be more than your garden-variety MIP.  Given the arrest and the failure to stop and identify (a charge most commonly associated with traffic crimes), I'm wondering if a vehicle may have been involved.

Not enough info yet...

But if you're drunk, call your team mom to come get you.  That's what she's there for.

If you're carrying alcohol & get picked up... "I saw this and wanted to get it off the street before some kid found it."  ;)

Anyone have more info on that?

The whole minor-in-possession law is rather ridiculous anyway.  Everyone should be 100% against drunk and impaired driving.  But if anyone thinks that the laws "banning" 18-20 year-olds from possessing alchol do ANYTHING they are delusional.  I am about as straight-laced as they come, with a grand total of two minor traffic tickets (one thrown out) on my entire record for my life, and even I spent time in college between 18-20 in possession of alcohol.  I just never happened to run into a cop while I was doing it.

You have to wonder if there was more to the story and the MIP charge is just what we are hearing about.

Whatever this is, it happened over a month ago. If it were actually something serious, it would have made the news then.

People need to stop following UM Diehards. There is absolutely nothing gained by following those ignoramuses.
